A Three Stooges reference would be cool, considering the influence it had on Evil Dead as a whole. If just calling them Stooges is too mean, how about "The Shemps", in honor of the fake shemps? Ash and the Shemps?
Well, now I'm even more honored to have been a part of that (even if just a very small part). You were right on the money. Like I said on the Introduce Yourself thread, Evil Dead was pretty much my own thing that I had discovered on my own and that nobody else seemed to know or care about, and...
The Primitive Screwheads. The Kandarian Krew. The Necronomicon Neutralizers. The Tenebrous Trio. The Chainsaw Chappies. The Boomstick Buddies.
I got nuthin'. I'm worse at this than Pablo, but at least I came up with some very cool names for punk bands.
But I like "Ash-holes" too. I say we go...
That's good to know. I feel honored! And you're welcome! :D
I actually got better at drawing over these years (but not that much better, to be completely honest). Unfortunately, I have no recent Evil Dead artwork to share.
It definitely looks different, but I still say it's the same dagger with a different design and it's pretty easy to explain how Ruby has it.
I really hope they don't sweep this part of the story under the rug and I still have hopes they'll explain the book somehow. They could actually...
I think it's the actual Kandarian dagger that we saw in the first two films. I didn't notice the skull, but it's very similar to how it looked on the first film, with the metal blade coming out of the bone handle instead of being made entirely out of bone like in Evil Dead 2. Regardless of how...
I agree with MaidOfKandar on this. The problem I had with those jokes isn't that I thought they were racist, just that they felt forced and out of character. Like "Ash is old and out of touch so he's kinda racist, haha". That doesn't work for me, particularly because Ash really isn't that old or...
Yep, I remember people like Raimiette, Norguard and Morsoth as well. I also fondly remember the filmmaking forums. There were a lot of really useful guides for building DIY equipment and tips for aspiring filmmakers. I used to love seeing the progress on the films people were making that were...
Well, that escalated quickly.
Take it easy, friend. It's all good. I'm sorry if I offended you, as it really wasn't my intention. I was just sharing my opinion and replying to what you said. I just disagree with the reason you gave for the way the special effects look. If you don't care about...
Major step down in quality this week. It was still kinda fun to watch and I enjoyed most of the summoning scene, but other than that, it was tremendously disappointing. The writing wasn't as good as last week and some of the dialogue was pretty bad. At least Amanda got something to do this week...
Stuff like props and clothes are just details. None of that stuff has any effect on the actual story. Please, tell me what other major plot points were ignored from one movie to the next? If you're referring to the beginning of Evil Dead 2 where only Ash and Linda go the cabin, that is just a...
@MaidOfKandar - I wish we could "like" posts on this forum. If we could, that post of yours would get all the likes I could give it. I make your words my own on all those subjects.
The book wasn't in ED2. In that movie, the characters only had the missing pages that Annie brought to the cabin with her. I always saw this plot point as acknowledgment from the filmmakers that the book was in fact destroyed in the first film. AoD takes place in medieval times, before the book...
I remember that.
When I first joined the forum, it looked like this:
Also, if you click on the following link, you can see my artwork featured on the old fan art section of the main site under the name "Guto":

I didn't know that. I can definitely see it, now that you mention it. The deadites in the remake certainly seem to take more inspiration from Regan than from the deadites in the actual Evil Dead series. I understand the design choices better now. I still think they were the wrong design choices...
I can't for the life of me remember what any of them looked like after they turned, except for Mia. They really didn't do much with them as deadites. Why didn't they go with the white eyes? It's the single most defining characteristic of a deadite.
Exactly. By the way, Ash's boss getting smashed into the car was an intentional beheading too. Ash's intention with that move was always to sever his head from the body. Ash even says "yeah, thanks for the heads up" before doing it. I also wouldn't have as much of a problem with this if the show...
