If they're the same spoilers I read on Reddit, I can see it actually being polarizing to the point where it frustrates the majority of the audience.   I wouldn't even call those choices very bold, just lazy and boggle-worthy and proving that they have no real sense of proper story structure...

IMO, their decision to flesh out Knowby by making him more vicious was a bad idea, mostly because you have to make this make sense with the movies and it fails that test.  This version of Knowby is both craven and power hungry, I never got that impression from what we got of his character in TED...

Well, on one end we could ague that Tanya would melt into goo like Cheryl and Scotty did at the end of TED when the Evil is dispelled; but that opens up the why-wasn't-her-body-still-intact-in-the-cellar and the why-wasn't-there-a-pile-of-goo-down-there-to-be-found questions. If she was buried...

JMO, Starz has always been awful about protecting the show's spoilers.  They blatantly post spoiler-laden gifs into the AveD tag on Tumblr hours before the show officially airs, which isn't helping their live ratings at all; they're so foccused on the new media ratings that they ignore that...
