RE: Army of Darkness/Evil Dead Comic Discussion Thread! I think my fave thing about Ashes 2 Ashes is watching the Wiseman trying to cope with the modern world. That and Ash getting attacked by wildlife.

The only thing that's comparative buzzwise is Outlander, which had a fanbase before it started thanks to Gabaldon's novels.   It also helps that they've had a long working history with Rob and Sam thanks to Spartacus. I'm definitely not trying to bury the show - I'm just a realist about...

RE the numbers - That's sadly actually not true.  Outlander regularly scores somewhere in the 1 mil range; they peaked somewhere around 2.6 million last year.  Power, which is Starz' biggest show right now, Drew 2.39 mil in lives for its season finale and averaged about 6.5 mil per episode...

Unstable by paid cable standards. And yes, ratings do count on paid cable, there's a reason Bruce begged people not to bootleg the show, and a reason why paid cable shows are indeed cancelled all the time. I still have a feeling they renewed it on critical buzz + trailer views.

It's either that or he want to make amends after the press blitz garnered them these blah-to-mediocre ratings.  At this point it's like he's basically trying to trawl up any kind of publicity he can, because we're in the back four eps heading into the holidays with unstable numbers.
