2: It is, however, advisable to use spoiler bars if you want to talk about spoilers for an unaired episode.

3: Please be respectful of the opinions of your fellow Deadites; some people may not love the episode as much as you do; some may love it more. Discussion and debate are good things.

It pains me to say this about an episode penned by Ivan Raimi, but we have forty plus years of lore behind us that says full bodily dismemberment kills a Deadite. And the proof in the lore is onscreen - Evil Ash, Linda, Shelley, they all keep coming even after being decapitated and cut into pieces. How is reattaching Candy's head going to make any difference RE making it possible for her to be or not be one?

I'm gonna say it's not really changing the lore we know, i think it's just a regular situation of "Oh shit, something could happen at this funeral and her corpse has been put back together" way of thinking by ash, i wouldn't look too much into it. Honestly that second clip is pretty funny because it's essentially ash going "Fuck, here we go... and at the funeral of all places."

I don't blame the guy for having his guard up especially when it involves his daughter.

I do like that he shows concern over her seeing the body again and doesn't want her to get upset seeing her mom like that, then his told the news of her being fully restored which get's the alarm bells going.

Plus, candy wasn't a deadite when she died, that also has to be taken into account here. So her body is primed and ready for a full on possession at this point.

See, that's the interesting part of it to me. The hint is that if her head isn't attached she won't go demonic. I don't know -we'l see what the episode tells us.

Hi, I fixed the thread title. The episode title was wrong. Don't rely on IMDB.

There's some major confusion as to what the episode title is; does anyone else have "Apparently Dead" on their cable guide? That's what mine said and why I went with it. I know it was "Father's Day" on the pre-press info.

Maybe they wanted to keep the secret of lee coming back for unsuspecting viewers?

I'd imagine so, but Father's Day doesn't hide much either!

I'm guessing so! We'll find out when the DVD gets released; My cable still says Apparently Dead so I have no idea which is up and what is down.

Yeah, they're definitely having Deadites behave by beheadings-equals-death zombie law.

Also: Ruby's been doing this guidance counselor shtick for two full years? The hell?

Dude, legit. That episode was fucking amazing. This season just keeps getting better and better with each episode.

This episode had it all, Comedy,Drama and Horror. and the new directors they got for this one nailed the style down to a tee.

Huh!!! I had an opposing impression; I liked this much less than episode 2 and I felt like the balance between the humor and the horror in particular felt way off. Worst ep of the season for me due to a couple of choices but there were also some chunks I like. I'll see if second watching improves it. It felt a little crass to me for reasons I can't quite lay my hands on, and a little too wisecracky. It's weird to feel that way about an Ivan Raimi episode but yep.

I will say, though, it did end with Lucy and Bruce dueting on the song "Kids" from Bye Bye Birdie, so. That's an improvement.

I don't get it, i thought the balance striked perfect with me, the humor/horror hit well enough and the serious moments are still hitting the right notes. That's strange you didn't like it, i thought this episode had the raimi dark comedy we know and love, sorry it didn't land for ya.

I hope that duet is released

OH BTW. I think the hatchet was buried from last season, cause i saw craig's name in the credits as a "consultant", nice to see there were no hard feelings between both parties.

Just finished the episode and I'm loving Brandy's character. The scene
where she puts on Crimson and Clover while becoming acquainted with Cheryl's room was sort of sweet
Aaaaand Ruby remains likeable as always, I'll be sad to see her character go.

I also think the show is suffering from the short run time. None of the scenes feel fleshed out at all, and it makes watching it weekly unfulfilling. It's best suited for binge watching imo

I didn't watch it yet but so far, but unfortunately all Ivan Raimi's episodes for the series was "meh".

EDIT : I just watched the episode. As expected this episode is a big "meh". Not bad, just very very average. I liked the little gothic flavor in the cemetary scene. The atmosphere was also good but didn't save the average story.

Why killing Dalton so quickly!? Damn, as soon there's a character with some background they just kill them. I mean, he was a Kandarian knight. Wrong move once again.

I know I said I was against the Ash's daughter idea. I'm still not sure but, I must admit Brandy stole the show on this episode. Arielle seems to be perfect for role. She give a good dramatic performance. The show really needed this.

Starz lists the episode as Apparently Dead on their own website.

I was wondering if it matched the info I was getting from various online guides (TV Guide, Zap2It). I always use my own cable guide as a primary source, then online ones. Interesting!

That makes me wonder how much of the series 'book' Craig created.

I'm guessing since Brock was involved along with a return trip to the cabin site they had to consult with Craig to get everything right.
