How many times do they use the cg with the blood all the time or just in some part's ?

Only a few times but it's very noticeable to the trained eye.

My guess is that the only Deadite in the trailer that isn't in the episode is the Grey faced eyeless one from the bookstore?

Yeah didn't see him.

That confirms that it solely appears in the bookstore ep/is possibly what whoever owned the store's been turned into!

I'm glad it looks good, Kain and that you had fun!  I'm still side-eyeing some choices they've made, but I'm glad the response is good.

That makes sense, Joe, thank you!  I'm starting to hit interview fatigue because of the amount of junketing going on.

Well I missed the first few minutes of the ep (they started the panel a little early) so the first thing I saw/walked in on was Ash having sex doggy style with the girl from the bar in some bathroom the first line I hear is the girl moaning "oh my god I'm cumming!"

In the middle of the sex scene Ash thinks he sees a deadite and then stops. The girl asks him what's wrong and he replies "Idk something just happened....something that hasn't happened in almost 30 years"

He then talks about how he has to go.  Girl asks him.if he wants to finish, he stops to think about it then decides to get back to it. Ramming her from behind and then smacking her ass hard with his wooden hand.

It appears that Ash smokes the regular good stuff

None of the dialogue from that audition tape is in the show and Kelly is only mean to Ash when he introduces himself to her. She is not mean to Pablo.

The words that Ash speaks are a combo of the original, the reboot, and some new words.

I'm still not sure if I really mind this. If it really is that out of place compared to the original movies (did the sex scene seem out of place to you?). Of course won't know until I see the episode, but I don't think I will mind it.

I'm however more concerned about the "stoned reading" from the Necronomicon. That still really worries me... But on the other hand, the second bunch of stuff you said about the general feel of the episode really made me happy and despite some of the weird shit we are hearing about, I believe I'll still enjoy the hell out of this show. So thank you for sharing. :)

The sex scene didn't feel out of place at all. It's just it was funny that it was the first thing I saw since they started the panel early which made me seem late. It was almost like walking in on an old friend having sex lol.

Ash unleashing the Evil Dead while ddrunk and stoned was pretty damn funny. Basically what happens is while he he trying to charm his date she says something along the lines of "ohh I love when aa man can speak another language like French" or something like that...and Ash looks around and goes " well it ain't exactly French but uh..." and reaches for the box where he holds the Necronomicon,  pulls out a paper with some translations a d they start reading it together.

@Kain - stream is supposed to start at 7:05, so that's when it begins for everyone!

The sex scene feels like raunch for the sake of raunch; "we have 'no limits', let's put this scene in!'  I mean, it sounds funny at least, and it's nice to have another consensual sex scene in the franchise (all we had before was Ash and Sheila's scene in AOD, and that was excised via editing).  Is Bruce pantsless or do they shoot them from the waists up?

Yeah, I'm still not incredibly jazzed about the idea of Ash reading the words stoned, especially off of regular pot, especially like that.  And I guess him reading a combination of the words means that's how we get the super Deadite infection that we end up with.  Is he keeping the Nec locked up normally or is it a coffee table book?

I'm glad they didn't use the Kelly stuff in the actual show, but I'm still dissapointed by Ash's gropey behavior toward her, which I know was filmed and included because it's in the promos.

Is there any other music in the pilot except for the Deep Purple song?

How would you describe Pablo and Kelly's relationship?  I admit they're part of what's keeping my interest in the show alive.

It doesn't effect my eventual enjoyment of the situation at all, but how muddy are the cgi shots?

ETA: I've launched a GoFundMe to gather cash for my possible trip to the premiere in LA, if anyone would like to contribute.

And that's STILL not a selll-out; there are tickets availible!  Have fun, Kain.  Ask a good question!
A had his pants pulled down if I remember corretly.

The book is in a box like in the trailer.

Ash isn't as gropey as you think, and his personality fits perfectly as a natural progression (or degression) from how he was 30 years ago.

The Deep Purple song isn't the only rock song (as made apparent by what plays in his trailer display at SDCC and NYCC) only song I can remember though is the end credits song: The Journey to the Center of the Mind by Amboy Dukes.

Pablo is Kelly's neighbor and got her the job at Value Stop. It's clear that he has a crush on her and she "haunts his dreams".

The CGI is kinda wonky. It doesn't take you completely out of the moment but if you are used to good CGI. It's noticable. It's mainly used during Amanda's introduction scene and the fight against the doll. Other than that any other CGI wasn't that noticable. And is a small bother once you see the cool practical effects they use.

All in all, as Evil Dead fans, this is what we've been waiting for. This is indeed Evil Dead 4.

Ehh, no, it's not funny and I'm not buying it still.  And I'm not buying there's any weed strong enough to erase the memory of having your sister melt all over you and beheading your girlfriend to the point of thinking it'd be a super cool idea to pretend Kandarian is a second language just to get his dick wet; this makes him solely responsible for what happens next.  Ash was never that foolish, and every time he unleashed the evil before it was accidental.  Ash is a lot of things - stubborn, angry, self-preserving, sure, but not this reckless.  Just because it's funny doesn't mean it's IC at all.

I'm frankly amazed at how flat-out incorrect some of the media outlets who've run spoilers were.

I keep hearing that that would be a natural progression for Ash, but nope, don't buy it.   I know everyone's going to point to AOD to force this into making sense, but everything that happens with Sheila and Ash is consensual, and the s-mart co-worker as well.  I can grudgingly accept the booze and drugs and the doggystyle bathroom sex with strange women, but there are still flecks to his character that feel off.  My best friend said it's like they're flanderising what little personality he has in the movies into a commentary on Bruce's, making him "Bruce with a chainsaw."

Ugh, so the unrequited crush stuff is true then.  At least she's not rejected the idea of them being together up front because otherwise anything further would make me uncomfortable.

In any event I don't believe Ash would progress from who he is in AOD to where he ends up in AvED.  You could say his confidence with women would make him overweeningly flirtatious, but look how he handles (or doesn't handle) women in the trilogy.  To me it just doesn't fit.

It was in a press announcement that we're getting the first ten minutes of the episode for free on various streaming platforms next week.

I think ten is too much (that's one third of the episode). Here is the original info about four minutes.

Finally getting a chance to watch the PaleyFest panel, and the banter between Bruce and Sam is great especially with the story about the 2x4. Bruce has also started saying fuck an awful lot in conversations, haha. I love it.

Kain said:
Other than that the first episode was a wild ride. I just sat there with a big happy grin through the whole episode.

The panel was fantastic. The banter between Sam, Bruce, and Lucy was hilarious. Dana was absolutely stunning in person. Wow!

Most of the fan questions were great but one guy asked Sam and Bruce if they would be interested in doing a Spawn movie. I just shook my head and rolled my eyes.

So going to the Paleyfest panel this evening fulfilled my bucket list of seeing Sam Raimi in person and marked the 14th time I've seen Bruce Campbell

Dana is a good looking gal with a great Raimi impression, and Jill has legs that would make even Tina Turner tremble. The Spawn question is really weird one, and I don't get why someone would ask a question like that at this panel. Sam looks like he is having a damn good time, and the foam finger guy talked a lot about Spiderman which was the lead into him to asking about Spawn. Gag. Bruce on making sound effects while hitting people, and Lucy talking about de-Xenafying Ruby made me smile. I got my Bruce Campbell's cream of Evil shirt, and now I'm just waiting for my Xena one.

Like i said before, The weed he smoked was confirmed to be "good stuff" and he had to have also been drinking either whiskey or hard liquor , that is not a good mixture for the brain in general, i'm sure if he was not on the booze or high as a kite i bet he would have come up with something else to impress this chick, BUT the booze/weed was overbearing on ash's mind that i don't even think his sober mind was there during that time he decided to read from the passages, plus it's also note worthy that he did not say the original passages but instead a combination of passages so that leaves me to believe that drunk/high ash was hesitant on even reading the translation's in the first place so he thought he could get away with just saying the incantations randomly (remind you of a certain scene from AoD?) and he would be scot free, now from that little clip we saw was the after morning affects of the booze/weed wearing off and him finding his dope bag in the necronomicon. and the small clip of him in the main trailer going "F****K" with the book in his hand looking extremely guilty, not mention the fact he wants to skip town as well, he know's he fucked up bad and i think the pilot episode is going to be him trying to cope with the big shit storm he has caused for everyone around him and by the end of the episode he's gonna realize that running won't help the situation and he now has to own up to the responsibility of being the deadite demon slayer once again and putting to bed this nightmare once and for all.

I hope they do the pablo/kelly story right and it's not a constant reminder for each episode, from the spoilers it sounds like they are taking the slow but steady route with it

I think we just need to see a couple episodes so we can get a good grasp on what there going for with ash's character plus kelly and pablo's and how they will evolve over the season.

Oop, Hurley's right - four minutes.  We'll probably be getting it because I haven't heard anyone announce a cancellation!

@Nick - did they archive the stream?  It'd be nice to have a link so everyone can watch it!

@Joe

Well, we can't have it both ways.  Either he's so inebriated he doesn't know what he's doing or he has enough brains to try and curve the incantation.  Since people who've seen it say they both recite the passage together Ash probably isn't doing anything.

OK, some new video interviews have popped up. It's basically the same promotional stuff over and over again, but there are some interesting bits every now and then and - more importantly - some new clips from the show.

This is what is still up on Yahoo. I'm not sure what is missing, but this is the main part of the interview with the cast and/or crew.

RE: Evil Dead Television Series [Spoilers Thread]

Thank you, Nick!

Interesting things to notice about the clips released, specifically Ghepardt Daily one

* You can hear some of Jo Lo Duca's score in the first clip, which reminds me a lot of AOD.  The obvious fanservice is...very obvious.

* Personal complaint: I'm going to have a drinking game.  Every time Pablo calls Ash Jefe, Homes or some variant racial stereotype phrase thereof, I will take a shot.  I bet I will die of alcohol poisoning on the 31st. Seriously, Sam: HIRE SOME LATINO/LATINA/LATINAX WRITERS.

* Hurley is psychic, because.   What the fuck was that clip with Kelly?  Is Kelly going to want to fuck Ash while Pablo pants after her?  Is every woman in the entire series canon going to bounce on Ash's baloney pony?  Do they not remember that there are actual women in the franchise that Ash has no sexual tension with?  Remember what I said about flanderising him into what's not actually in canon? This is kind of complicating their mentor status and Making It Weird.  It's like they're trying to replay what happened with Ash and Sheila in AOD, completely ignoring that Sheila didn't stand for his shit whenever he was a rude jackass.

* The chemistry between Amanda and Ruby seems cute. Which is a shame, because they're going to spoil it by having both of them screw Ash in turn.

DirecTV Video (ETA this is a promo thing for DirecTV customers, it's on my system):

* "Maybe he uses other people to die instead of him."  Have you like...watched the movies, Bruce? I know you have.  Where he generally doesn't try to lead people to their doom but protect them after he gets his shit together?

TV Insider

"Write that down, Ash is noble."

Bay Area HQ and I have a different opinion of what hilarious is. "It's Eastbound and Down Meets Sharknado Meets The Walking Dead." Dear God.

To be honest i think the cast is getting wore out by saying the same shit over and over again to the press, so to me it seems like there just saying shit now so they can just get the interview over with and it's not actually what the show is about, i would go insane too answering the same questions over and over again.

Now about that kelly scene

i think she isn't wanting to ride the ash train, it's more of a "what the hell are you doing "look  before she is thrown to the couch by ash , i mean for Christ sake this is the same girl who basically slammed ash's head onto a counter and threaten to shove his wooden hand up his ass for hitting on her, so i highly doubt kelly is gonna fall for ash's Lothario bs despite secretly admiring his heroic nature.

the no more running line by ash in that small clip showed that my prediction rings true that the show is gonna have over arching character development and we'll see these characters change over the season,  i bet even pablo with start to not look at ash as his boss and more of a partner.

I think we should stop jumping the gun on small clips and just wait to see how these character's act with one and other before we start making critiques  :s
