Evil Dead Burn | Official Thread

So far, there are no real characters that stand out to me. I'm also not a fan of the lighting.

I corrected the photo with better lighting:

Looks like we got confirmed character names: Left to right: Tandi Wright (Susan), Souheila Yacoub (Alice), Maude Davey (Polly), Hunter Doohan (Joseph).

But what if granny is actually the final girl for this film?
YOU KID BUT I WOULD LOVE THIS. Give me a crusty, Bea Arthur-type chick killing Deadites! I'd be there!

The granny is already giving me Drag Me to Hell vibes!
She reminds me of Ash's little old lady neighbor from the trailer park in AvED.

Apparently the full trailer (which is about 2:20) will drop next week with the release of WB's Mortal Kombat II. That makes sense given Rob Tapert's statement last week about the longer one coming "in two weeks".

I'm planning to see Mortal Kombat II with friends so it would be fun if they play the trailer in the theatre.

Though it seems kinda odd to pair these two movies. Like they are both R-rated, but when it comes to genre, they're totally different.

Also I'm probably just nitpicking with this one, but 2:20 feels way too long. In my experience any trailer longer than 2 minutes reveals just too much. But we'll see.

They should have put a full-length one out with The Mummy, though considering how it did at the box office they're likely grateful they didn't do that.

And now the Evil Dead Burn trailer has pretty big shoes to fill.

The most impressive part to me is how much that looks and feels like the early Resident Evil games in terms of atmosphere without actually trying to adapt any of them directly. That's how it's done. But even beyond the merits of adaptation, that looks like a damn good horror movie. I wasn't all that excited about it before, but after this trailer I gotta say I'm probably more excited about this one than Evil Dead Burn. I wasn't such a big fan of Barbarian but really liked Weapons, so I'm interested in seeing how Cregger evolves from film to film.

A lot of my Resident Evil fan friends are over the moon about how good this looks! It's certainly the best one they've managed to crank out so far.

Apparently it's going to be like Rise and there will be characters with the
classic solid white eyes, the 2013 eyes, and the silver eyes.
I like mixing it up, but at least give us a in-universe reason for the constant differences.
Looks like ..

.. she's about to do something nasty with that candle wax. Probably to herself knowing Kandarian demons.

Looking at that Imdb list of actors with their character's names, the only one that hasn't got a photo of the actor next to it is someone called Mike. My imagination is hoping it's a Ted Raimi roll, Ted's some old dude who comes to check if everyone's Ok or something. That'd be cool.

Yep, we know thanks to trailer spoilers she gulps the candle wax.

Which - sorry, that's not going to gross me out after we had characters eating broken glass last movie. Starting to run out of dangerous substances for them to drink.

People are also pointing out that ..

Granny seems to have a metal leg in that group front porch picture and are speculating on what kind of damage she'll be able to do with that.

I saw that chart over there! It's interesting to see it all laid out this way.
