Evil Dead Burn | Official Thread

Huh, I'm guessing that's her pre-Deaditeification?

Not having a Xitter account makes it difficult in that the SamRaimiUpdates account is listed as posting adult content making it impossible to see the comments, but I was wondering how long it would take to get any updates from the set.

Hunter Doohan briefly talks EVIL DEAD RISE in new Cero Magazine interview:
Doohan still has several weeks to go filming Evil Dead Burn, the latest entry in Sam Raimi’s cult series, and while details are scarce, the actor promises the movie will please longtime fans while bringing a new perspective courtesy of its French director and co-writer Sébastien Vaniček, whose independent 2023 debut Infested was a striking and critically acclaimed horror film about an infestation of deadly spiders. “It does a really beautiful job of tying in the lore from the whole franchise and bringing it into this new film,” Doohan offers. “Sebastian is incredible. His first feature is really visceral and brutal, so he’s kind of the perfect next director to play in the Evil Dead world.”
"Tying in the lore from the whole franchise", eh?

They need to stop trying to do that. AvED tried to do it, Rise tried to do it - just concentrate on doing your own thing, that's my advice!

There is lots of people that buy into the "three Necronomicons" theory and genuinely want it to be a thing.

The one thing that really bums me out about the Internet popculture discourse (among other things of course) is that there can't be easter eggs in movies anymore, it all has to mean something. It can't be just a fun cameo that Bruce Campbell did one of the voices on the recording in Rise. No, it has to mean that it's actually Ash traveling through time again. Sigh…

That's crazy. I'm glad I don't engage with fan communities much anymore outside of this site.

Makes me wonder how the next chosen director will slide in their claim to canon-ness. A secret fourth Necronomicon! With TED it's so hard to get Universal on the same page as everything else so that means a chunk of my favorite part of the canon just drops into the ether. I like all the OTHER parts, but I miss that part.

Makes me miss the days of Freddy's glove just being in the workshed, and sure it led to a crossover but it also didn't need to. It was just a fun sight gag.

Philip Lozano has been posting Evil Dead Burn stuff right under our noses. Almost 24 hours ago, he posted this image, so it seems like principal photography is almost complete.

And then there's this photo from gripsontour that may have been taken on set...

And Lozano has a whole Instagram Story of Evil Dead Burn production photographs in a section called "E D B"

Whelp! it looks very Evil Dead

Unless I haven't been paying enough attention, I like the fact that we know nothing at all yet
about the storyline for this one. Or am I wrong on that?

No story details except main character is French and is surrounded by American characters. Judging by the guy's clothes in that video clip, it could take place anywhere between the 1980s and today.
