Evil Dead Burn | Official Thread

New Burn TV spot (I guess it counts as "TV" if your TV is vertical)
I think they're really trying to push "Dead by dawn" as THE Deadite catchphrase. Not entirely sure how I feel about that.
We also get a better look at...
Jessica, clearly seeing it's not the same actress (though apparently it is her stunt double who worked on Rise).

The link doesn't work, at least not for me, but I found this on YouTube, which might be the same thing?
Also I have no problem with bringing Dead by Dawn back as a catchphrase. It makes the most sense anyway (alongside with I'll swallow your soul).

Another new commercial has dropped. We see a sketch of the 2013 Naturom Demonto, which explains why the pages we've seen in other trailers looks like they were taken from that book.

I am loving that the "dead by dawn" line is still being used cause the way i look at that line, it's really not a catchphrase for the deadites, i feel like that's the wrong term to qualify it under.

Let's dissect that line for a moment here, are the deadites wrong when they pop this line out? Most of the time, it's either 1 person or 2 that survive until dawn, the rest are in fact, "dead by dawn" .

It's the deadite's war cry and proclamation alongside "I'll swallow your soul" because it's really not a prediction from the deadites, it's really a hard fact when you factor in how many people are alive by the end of a evil dead film, games or tv series, they leave a lot of people dead when they are unleashed onto the world.

It's great this line is still being maintained through out the franchise cause it's a really hard hitting line that's really foreboding for everyone involved in the situation and still never fails to creep me out when it's belted out.

It feels like the deadites are ringing the bell that they are done playing with their food and it's the last warning to everyone whose still alive their asses are minced meat from that point forward.

Confirmed that the beginning of the movie connects directly to Evil Dead Rise. IM OUT ! ! !
You're entitled to your opinion on Rise. Everything can't appease everyone. But I must say that I think that it's silly to completely disregard a new movie with a completely different writer/director based on a single connection to the previous installment you didn't like that was written and directed by someone else. Not to divulge too much, but we know from people who attended the test screenings that the connection to Rise is basically only the one scene with Jessica that we see in the trailer, with the story branching off from there and becoming it's own thing.

My thoughts:

It's interesting that we definitely have some more splatstick here along with some heart-tugging human drama. It might be walking the serious/funny line? I'll agree that the wax scare isn't a biggie and is kinda meh.

Oh, so you're that kind of person.
Well, this explain everything.
I mean, it was pretty clear he was that type of person from the kick-off, but we're nice people and everyone's welcome, even the ones with the, you know, opinions.

Regardless, I'm more interesting in this one than I was with the last two, to be honest, but that's probably because my Evil Dead interest is at a high point currently. Positivity'll do that!

Speaking of opinions, I have a feeling Burn might be a little better than Evil Dead (2013) but worse than Rise. Wrath will be a return to form and become the Evil Dead 2 of the modern Evil Dead trilogy. Just my prediction.

Well... to get this thread back on track, here's a stand-up poster a Redditor found in their local theater. Slight variation of the normal poster, now with the family up-close and more of Alice's upper torso.

You have made so many stupid comments I'm convinced you are a troll living under your mother's bridge.

Alright, everyone i'm gonna advise you all to just set them on ignore and move on, let's get this thread back on track.

Just now I realized it's less than a month away. I guess I'm more curious than excited, but I'm still looking forward to it!

ANOTHER teaser has come out that shows us a new scene, but this one seems rather spoilery, so watch at your own risk! It also says July 8th as the release date... IDK what that is about...

Bro is already out promoting the Director's Cut when the theatrical ain't even out yet...
"There is a scene that is not R-rated," Vaničekin said in the latest issue of SFX magazine (which has House of the Dragon season 3 on the cover). "It’s a really, really hard scene. And I have to cut it, unfortunately, so you just won’t experience it as brutally as it is right now because I need to have the R-rated movie. So we are trying to find a good balance."

At the time of the interview, Vaniček was in the middle of getting the movie rated by the Motion Picture Association. The goal was to achieve an R rating in the US (which equates to a 15 or 18 age rating in the UK), in line with the rest of the franchise.

Vaniček didn't give any clues on what the scene entailed, but if it was too much for an R-rating, we can only imagine the level of gore. Evil Dead Rise contained a scene where a possessed victim grated their face with a cheese grater, and the 2013 Evil Dead remake showed a girl cutting her own arm off with an electric carving knife. Still, both movies managed to earn an R-rating in the US and an 18 rating in the UK. So, the cut Evil Dead Burn scene must have been extremely graphic.

Sorry for stating the obvious but we seem to have a pattern with the post Army Of Darkness films.

The Evil Dead remake had a heroine who was already compromised because she was also fighting a drug addiction.

Evil Dead Rise had a heroine who was already compromised because she was also living in a nasty building.

Our new Evil Dead Burn heroine is already compromised because she's also getting over the recent death of her partner so forced to live with her in laws.

I'm now wondering what our heroine/hero will also be compromised with for Evil Dead Wrath.
