Evil Dead Fan Collections...Post Yours!

Hi There! First post here. I just wanted to say I'm really enjoying seeing everyone's collections here, some truly amazing ones! When I get the chance, I'll post up some of my own, mostly DVD's and Tapes and well short of many of the collections here but I'm a long time Evil Dead fan, from when It first blew me away as a kid, seeing it on Betamax in the early 80's.

If I can ask a first time question for Names_Ash... Wow, quite a brilliant collection! I'm particularly impressed with your tape collection. In your picture of your UK tapes, I was wondering if you could tell me what the tape is on the top row, second left, between your Palace Evil Dead tapes with the Beta's sitting on top? I can't say I recognise it at all and was just wondering what label it was on? Is it a UK palace release without certification? I can see it's missing the regular "The most ferociously original horror film of the year" text on the right.
Anyway, I'm quite intrigued and would love to see a closer picture of that tape if it's at all possible. I have the first Palace release on VHS and Beta. Nice "Free Meat" competition card btw! ; ) Thanks very much, regards, Paul.

My collection aint so great, just the DVDs, but I just picked up a copy of Cinefantastique's ED3 issue and Im so stoked. I originally bought it when it came out, along with my dad taking me to go see AOD in the theater, and I read it so much that cover came off and I had to tape it on. My original copy possibly is lost, so I ordered a new one, and its pristine, perfect for signing should I ever get the chance.

Hi,

The Tape in question was made in the early 80's by a video shop who had the original versions taken away in the Video Nasties era, its the advertising poster made into a video sleeve with a tape-tape recording of the film onto blank VHS.

Unfortunetly my collection took a major hit when I was made unemployed last year and have since been sold on, I do still have the video in question and the Pre-Cert Evil Dead VHS and Red Meat Prize card, Id say I have about 50% of my over all collection still, including my replica Evil Dead 2 Chainsaw! never selling that  ;D.

Thanks Sean

Hi first time posting. My name is Riqui (ricky). Long time evil dead fan!!!! I had a huge collection of evil dead mercandise, UNTILL!!!! My house cought on FIRE!!!! (NOOOOOOOOOOOO!) well needless to say everything whent up in flames (or so I thought). I came across a evil dead treat that i could not pass up on years ago. 2 original book of the dead movie tickets (before it was called evil dead) they are both from the redford theater in michigan for the opening pemere of Book Of The Dead (soon to be retitled evil dead). I thought they burned up in the fire!!! but i guess i was smart enoughf to put them in storage with my other valubales. I receved these tickets from Scott Spiegle several years ago, as well as a hand written letter from him as well, saing where they came from (he even sighned one of the tickets). I would love to catch bruce and sam to get them to sighn them before i frame them. These items are not for sale, I am leaving them to my son (big evil dead fan as well, and he is only 11) can anyone tell me the value of these tickets? Priceless for me of corse. or does anyone know where i can get a certificate or document saying that this is the real deal? I want to leave a piece of movie making history and a piece of myself for my son. I will upload pics later (my wife is the computer geek (no ofence to anyone, I am a HUGE STAR WARS GEEK, AND PROUD OF BEING A GEEK!!!), I just don't know how to upload pics. Thanks again for your help. wish i could have showen off my collection, but the best did survive the fire (WHEW!!!).

That's harsh ... not on the same scale as your pain but I can relate: Untill recently, I'd had a personally signed to me by David Prowse Darth Vader glossy A4 ( " To Christian from Darth Vader " ) , the exact same one that was on the kid's bedroom wall in 'POLTERGEIST'. I got it before Star Wars was released (or got famous) cos my mum and her friend took all us kids to Hamley's toy store in Birmingham when I was about 5 ( I'm 38 now ). I was the smallest kid there in a crowd that numbered only 10 or so, so an assistant in the crowd said "Darth, there's someone here who want's to see you" and lifted me up. I still didn't know at the time who the black shiny tall guy was or why I was holding a torch with a plastic tube attached to it that my Mum had bought me, but I felt important ..

Any hardcore Star Wars collectors/ fans of a nervous disposition stop reading now ..

As I grew older, Star Wars re-defined pop geek culture ... fast forward to when I was fourteen ... my 'friends' are in my bedroom and playing on my new dart board when one decides out of jealousy to throw his darts at my framed Darth Picture ... three puncture holes that I tore out out of anger to cause extra tear damage, but after ... I stored it away and it travelled around with me through different decades, girlfriends, life changes, countys untill about 2 months ago ..

I rediscovered it again, drunk & looking for something else, and thought: "Hey! .. I love this and I'm going to give it the restoration that it deserves!" ... brace yourselves ... I sprayed detergent on it and wiped the autograph off. For fuck's sake. The next morning, after retrieving it from the outside bin, I still have what's left of it ..

On the upside, I came here to boast about my best Christmas present .. my wife bought me a 99% mint copy of the Twilight Zone Magazine, November 1982 with Stephen King's Cannes film festival first gushing review of The Evil Dead. Check this out:  ' Asked what he want's out of the business, he says: "Right now I want to make enough money to get my car fixed. I'ts been sitting out in front of my house since we finished Evil Dead, and my folks are pestering me to have it taken away. I don't wan't to do that. I want to get it fixed." ... and ... ' ...but as he turned into his home block after the film was wrapped, the engine caught on fire. It's sitting there now in Detroit .. So's the film - waiting for an American distributior. Any takers? '
Happy Christmas Deadites  :)

I kinda stopped sharing my additions but I got the Deadites Champions boxed set from Leading Edge Games for the board game. I absolutely love it! Was really surprised with the detail on such small figures. It would be awesome if I could somehow get a hold of all 6 of them. I have a question though. All the figures in the blister packs, are there some different/new ones that exist in the blister packs that are not in the boxed sets? I know that obviously the Deathmobile is only available in one boxed set on its own. If anyone had any answers I'd greatly appreciate it. It seems like there is at least some overlap.

Im buying a digital camera soon and I will take photos of my collection. It is not as fantastic of some of the others on here.

I have 5 different copies of the original Evil Dead on DVD with various covers, 3 different copies of Evil Dead 2, 4 copies of Army Of Darkness DVD, Evil Dead Musical DVD, one copy each of the trilogy on VHS, Evil Dead Companion book, Army Of Darkness comics and trades, 3 posters, Evil Dead Hail To The King, Evil Dead A Fistful Of Boomstick and Evil Dead Regeneration, and the McFarlane Movie Maniacs figures.

Lastly one of my favourites and I made it myself. I created a fan edit of the trilogy (with a run time of over 4 hours 9 minutes) restoring all of the deleted scenes from parts 1 and 3. I tried to put the deleted scenes from Evil Dead 2 in but due to the foreign language I could not get it to work. I took out the first 5 minutes of Evil Dead 2 and the last few minutes making the movie run without any continuity issues

Sounds awesome man. Which of the three games is your favorite?

Hail To The King without a doubt. Even though I loved the following games they did not capture the tone and feel of the movies like HTTK did. The first disc captured the tone and feel of the original two movies while the 2nd disc was more in line with AOD.

I still do not know why so many people said the game was too hard as I finished it on the second sitting and I think I died only once through out the game. I had issues with the continuity issues but it would not be Evil Dead without continuity issues lol

What game did you like?

I agree that Hail to the King had probably the best storyline, but I can't stand the controls and therefore never finished it. My friend who is a really good gamer had his fair share of difficulty as well. We're just really not used to those controls and even when he learned how to use them and got better, he still had a hard time.

Personally I'm all over Regeneration. I love the Ash/Sam duo, the humor, the gameplay is fun, etc. But what frustrates me is that the only game that is long is the one that I can't play. :( And I like long games. Boomstick and Regeneration are definitely short ones.

Regeneration made me laugh the most out of the games lol. I liked it too for having a storyline set after the original film . You should keep at it paying HTTK, the only really annoying thing I found was the constant respawning of the deadites, they did irritate me sometimes.

Don't have a Playstation to play it with my friend. I did try hard the first time. I just couldn't get used to it. I don't think I even can.

Who's got a replica of the book of the dead, not dvd book, the "real" thing or fan made to put some good pictures of the pages. The most i can find online are blury and not that a good quality. Always welcome !!! :)

I really love hail to the king. In the beginning it is tough, that's true. But once you can make you own health potions from grey mushrooms. It's all getting easier. And you must always spare the fuel for the chainsaw. And really not miss a save point. When you are sticking to this rules. You have played out the game and you'll love the final movie. When ash walks in the street and see that there is a book store, filled with book of the deads. He screams it out :) Excellent :)
