I've not read about this on Deadites yet so apologies if it's already been posted and I missed it ...
Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert were trying to get any paycheck they could after the Evil Dead
left them on the breadline, they turned to legendary B-Movie producer Dino De Laurentiss. His stipulation at the the time, Raimi recalled on The Incredibly Srange Film Show was simply " Make the screen run red with blood " . Laurentiss supported and financed Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness.
Dino died on November the 11th, 2010 aged 91, a producing career that started in 1941 to today ..
Both Raimi and Tapert remembered him fondly on that show and both cracked jokes about his voice ...
