Thanks for the refresher! I used to post on here around ~2001 (+ had my own shitty Evil Dead geocities site), but have been out of the loop. Looks like I have some catching up to do.

Was going to post this the other week, but it coincided with Bruce's health announcement, so it felt like my triumphant return might land with the mood of a dog being run over in the parking lot.

I joined up again because I'm currently doing some research for an Evil Dead-related project (which I'll share, whenever I get around to finishing it) and stumbled across Swofty's Evil Dead Folders (thanks for preserving this, Swofty!). What a fascinating time capsule. I'm pushin' 40 now, but there are many traces of ~14 year old me throughout it. It was a great surprise to see my internet activity from so long ago (complete with terrible grammar and typos) in a very different internet landscape - not even preserved on the Internet Archive. Felt like finding an 25-year-old box of photos you didn't know existed. It's probably boring as batshit to 99% of people, but interesting to me. Anyway, thought I'd drop by with my dorky old username to say hello!

Now... to recede back into the lurking shadows.
 
I'm new to the forums but not the series. I've watched all the Evil Dead films (minus the newest one) and I couldn't pick a favorite, it changes day by day depending on the mood. Right now I'm trying to read through all the comics. I didn't realize there were so many! It looks like these forums have been around awhile so hopefully I'm not too late to join in on the festivities.

Glad you found those DLA. I printed them out 25 years ago for my folders so we have both your old site and your forum contributions thanks to EvilDeadChainsaw who converted them all to digital format. Welcome back.
 
Hi everyone!
I've been hooked on The Evil Dead ever since I first saw it, and I've looked forward to every new entry in the franchise ever since. Sometimes I've loved what we got, sometimes I've been disappointed – but I'm always curious to see where Evil Dead goes next.

I've already learned quite a bit just from reading through the forum, so I thought it was about time I joined in. Hopefully I can contribute something useful too – or at least add another opinion to the endless debate about how these movies should be ranked.

Good to meet you Doomlord. Just out of curiosity, did you get your username Doomlord from the old comic strip alien from the UK Eagle Comic?.

Thanks! No, actually I didn't even know about that comic. I just liked the name – I think I came across it somewhere in connection with doom metal years ago and it somehow stuck with me.

But you really got me curious now. I've just looked up some of the Doomlord artwork and covers, and I have to say, it looks fantastic. I'm definitely going to investigate this a little further.

I also just found out that Hibernia Comics has released a new collection of the original Doomlord photo-stories this year. You probably already know about it, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

You're welcome Doomlord and by coincdence, the comic book character was released in 1982 so around the same time as The Evil Dead.

I think someone from the comic was just cheeky and saw the mask on a store shelf somewhere so decided to just use it as a character. I remember seeing the same mask in a few fancy dress shops around the time and there was no Doomlord or EAGLE lables on them.
