HalloweenCostumes.com continues their complete mishandling excellent officially licensed Army of Darkness product range with the all-new Men's Deluxe Army of Darkness Ash Williams Costume! Yeah... it keeps getting worse the longer you look at it.

This ain't Ash Williams. I christen him Nash Billiams.
Oh, you noticed that chainsaw? Well guess what? Besides being based on Ash vs Evil Dead and not Army of Darkness (AGAIN), it is not sold with the costume... you gotta buy that sucker separately. Yes, for an additional $60, you can have a chainsaw that doesn't even have paint on the other side (because the blade and the side plate are all one piece). I'll give it points for at least being a way brighter red than the Syndicate Collectibles chainsaw.

Someone on Reddit wrote a review of the HalloweenCostumes.com AOD chainsaw and... it's not good.
It was over 70 dollars with shipping and is grossly misadvertised. The pull cord handle is a small bump on the real thing vs the stock images showing the pull cord way more bulbous and substantial. The blade and metal bracket on the rear side of chainsaw was partially painted red vs stock images showing the metal bracket and blade being metal gray. The plastic feels like a hard foam instead of solid plastic. Its very flexible and the black handle has tons of movement. I fear it will break with any stress on it.

The horizontal handle inside the chainsaw where you hold it is not very ergonomic and very tight in there. So people with big hands will have trouble holding it. Also the handle seems to be oriented the wrong way as it forces you to hold the chainsaw sideways if that makes sense. The Syndicate prop had it oriented vertical so the chainsaw was oriented correctly from an outside perspective.

Also, the electronics and wires inside are rubbing right against your hand. This will most certainly break the solder points and render the electronics useless. Not that the electronics are great anyway. It's just a recycled 10 second sound byte from god knows where. It sounds like shit and its incredibly loud.
While I agree with the comments that it is a bit unfair to compare it to the Syndicate chainsaw, stuff like having the electronics/wiring exposed in the area where people are going to be sticking their hands is a very poor design choice. NGL I was considering getting one of these (just to have for the novelty of it, not to actually wear) so thank god this post came out when it did.

Uuugh, what do you think skin peeled off by a cheese greater smells like?

They should have at least done that with Burn where a candle actually plays a role in the movie, though looking at that online store, I doubt they even have a proper IP license (they don't even sell this on the US store).

Syndicate Collectibles is having a Halloween sale, and their AOD chainsaw is 30% off!
