The plot for the Evil Dead Remake sounds awfully familiar… According to Shock Till You Drop:
Since the American Film Market is just around the bend, a lot of information is hitting the horror scene as production companies prepare for next week’s event.
A synopsis for The Evil Dead redo has hit AFM materials and reads like this:
Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.
Yeah. Just like the original. Bloody-Disgusting says the reason the friends hit the cabin this time is to help one of their own kick a drug addition. Likely a small sub-plot.
Special features details have been released for the upcoming Evil Dead II 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray from Lionsgate include:

Although technical specs have yet to be released, “Lionsgate is aware of how dissatisfied people were with the transfer on the previous Evil Dead II Blu-ray, and are taking steps to solve that issue for the new edition.”
The 25th Anniversary of Evil Dead II will be released on November 15th and is up for pre-order for a mere $10 on Amazon!
Special effects makeup artist Shannon Shea who worked as Mark Shostrom’s assistant on Evil Dead 2 has written up lengthy entry on his blog re-counting his experience on set. Included on his blog are some never-before seen photos and video. It’s a must read.
