Evil Dead: The Game

Looks pretty slick. Wish it had more of a focus on story content but hey I'll take it. Will be fun to explore the environments and some bot matches.

Well actually it looks like there is going to be a bit of story/lore drops in this game. Knowby's tapes seem like they are gonna hold that content

Not really. It looks like a more polished friday the 13th mixed with the tight combat of Left 4 dead with the objectives of DBD.

Also i noticed in the trailer they are using the evil dead 2 kandarian dagger as one of the artifacts.

Man there's so much to breakdown and digest.

There is a lot in that short clip that is easily missed like Amanda Fisher making an appearance after Bruce talks about why Ash always wore brown pants. So we know there are quite a few Ash vs Evil Dead characters both good and bad in the game, but no news about any of the voice actors other than Bruce, Dana, and Ray.

I can't believe the stacked roster of characters and demons that are appearing in this game, i imagine there's going to be plenty more characters in the line up along with other mini boss demons you can use, they are really taking advantage of having every license for this game and i don't blame them one bit for doing it.

I also noticed when controlling the demon in one shot, there seems to be some type of point system of what you can possess. I imagine pulling out the big mini boss demons are gonna cost a lot to summon into the field.

This is what has me so hyped for this game! Aside from it being Evil Dead of course. I'm a huge fan of both Left 4 Dead and Friday the 13th, I could never get into DBD but I think it has a lot of cool things going for it. This is easily shaping up to be my favorite horror game of all time. I hope in addition to the PVP aspects there is a co-op story mode, or at least a mode where you can go against AI controlled Deadites. The sheer number of characters and references they are packing into this game is very groovy. I'll always want to play as Ash but it is so cool that Evil Ash is playable. Hoping to see Linda, Annie, Sheila, and Dalton make the cut.

Also I couldn't stop laughing when he said people who would choose to play as the Kandarian demon are dicks, because my friend Richard kept going on about how much he wants to play as the demon when they first announced the game.

Jake is possessed in the gameplay, and him puking on Henry reminds me of the Deadites in Fistful of Boomstick which had a good possession spell that would send out an orb you had to control making it harder to hit your target. It would be nice if they also borrowed the camera being tied into the boomstick when you would aim it over your shoulder too.

I don't know if that's Jake, looks too tall to be Jake. Though speaking of him, he has his own gas station set up in the game! Got his name and everything.

Sorry the puker wasn't him, but he was shown right before that... and I'm going to assume being possessed will make everyone appear a little bigger than normal in the game.

Just noticed at 1:35 in the video the dark ones are going to be in this game, looks like they are protecting something.
 
Nice catch, I didn't even notice the gas station having Jake's name on it or the Dark Ones. It really does seem like they're trying to make this the ultimate Evil Dead experience. I really hope we get Arthur's castle as a stage!

Hopefully that means there will be a single player mode for those who want it, I read that as "you can form a team with friends" or "go it alone as a Deadite/ get paired up with other players as a hero" but I'm probably wrong. Friday the 13th was a fun game despite the bugs and copyright issues, but it's lack of offline content is something I hope this game is able to avoid.

Ideally I would like to see:
. Single player hero vs AI story missions (Offline)
. Co-op heroes vs AI story missions (Offline or Online)
. Single Player Kandarian Demon vs AI controlled heroes (Offline)
. PVP: Heroes vs Kandarian Demon (Online)

Those four options would provide everyone with something to enjoy I feel. Single player missions for those wanting to play solo. Co-op vs AI mode for those who want to team up with friends against a computer controlled enemy. Single Player Deadite mode so you can practice your soul swallowing skills or just let loose as a scary Kandarian Demon. And of course the PVP mode would be the big attraction for most and it's what the game seems to be mostly built around. I know they won't do it but I would LOVE to see them include splitscreen for two or more players on the same console.
 
Just noticed a very hilarious thing you can do as the kandarian demon, so i noticed in the gameplay trailer it marks things white that you can take control over, and one of those things was a car.

So yeah, you can commit hit and runs with cars or have car chases in this game.

Man i can't wait to see what else you can do as the kandarian demon, seems like the devs very much put in a lot of thought of the dirty tricks you can do.

Where did you see a non-possessed Ed? If he makes it in as a playable character I'm expecting the playable roster to be huge lol.

So far for confirmed playable heroes we have: Ash, Cheryl, Scotty, Arthur, Henry, Pablo, Kelly, and Amanda. 8 characters so far, unless young Ash and old Ash are separate characters which would bring us up to 9. 4 from the films and 3 from the TV show, not counting Ash towards either one.

Characters I think that are pretty likely include: Linda, Annie, Jake, Sheila, Ruby, Brock, Chet, Dalton, and Brandy. That would make for a roster of 17 characters, 18 if they make the two Ash's take up a slot each. I feel like this would make for a solid cast of playable heroes. The split between movie and TV characters would be about even, excluding Ash the ration of men to women would be pretty close too.

If they really go balls to the walls and try include some unexpected characters we could see the likes of: Shelly, Ed, Bobby Jo, Professor Knowby, Henrietta, The Wise Man, the Blacksmith, Brujo, Heather, Thomas, Linda B, Lacey, Zoe, and Lexx. I would like to see some of these make it in (The Blacksmith, Brujo, and Lexx) but could care less for some of them.

Who are you hoping makes the cut?
