It's interesting to hear some background about this before the issue goes to press!

Here's the August and September solicits. August Issue streets on the 17th.

When an archaeological dig unveils an important element from the world of the Army of Darkness, it ends up in the absolute worst hands of all... Dr. Herbert West. As West tinkers in God's domain, our reluctant hero is once more drawn within the sphere of destiny as he faces a triple threat of danger!

This issue: Bad Ash and Herbert have teamed up, but it's the Necronomicon that's large and in charge. And wait, what's that Ash spies with his little eyes? A portal! That can't be good, can it?

Covers by Tony Fleecs, Christopher Mitten, Arthur Suydam and Stuart Sayger, respectively.

Yeah, the interior art should be by someone entirely different. I agree that the covers aren't too exciting, though I like the Suydams.

And here are the covers for October!

West PLUS West PLUS Ash PLUS Ash!?!? Where is it all going? Nowhere good if the Necronomicon has its way. And you can just bet there's a vortex waiting to open up and send our hero and his nemesis somewhere strange and weird when it's all over!

Covers in order: Tony Fleecs, Christopher Mitten, Arthur Suydam, Stuart Sayger:

Final issue is out November 30, with no sign of anything AOD-related in the December solicits. Time for another miniseries sometime next year.

Our incredible conclusion is here! It's all come down to this as Herbert and Ash duel to the very end, and you can bet your Ash that there's gonna be a portal involved, 'cuz the Necronomicon loves to screw with the Chosen One in the worst possible ways! Writer Erik Burnham is joined by returning Dynamite artist Eman Casallos to bring you all of the excitement and deadite action! Joining Dynamite superstar cover artists Arthur "Zombie King" Suydam and Stuart (KISS) Sayger is Tony (Stray Dogs) Fleecs and Christopher (Hellboy) Mitten!

Covers by Tony Fleecs, Christopher Mitten, Arthur Suydam and Stuart Sayger:

I'm sure Dynamite will find another series to make!

However, I was kinda disapointed that Ash didn't made the cut in Die!namite Never Dies... I'll still buy the trade paperback, because I like the crossover event, but I hope he get back in the next one.

Indeed!

I'm surprised they didn't use him in that either; he was in the second one and I think survived the whole ordeal.

Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times, but what are Space Goat Productions' Evil Dead 2 comics about? I know Dynamite Ent. AoD comics are their own post-movies story (or stories).

When I first heard of it yesterday I got excited they were finally gonna give a shot at continuing the story from the original AoD post-apoc ending, and made a mental note not to miss it. Now I find out they're not actually committing to that storyline at all and instead are doing the same ol' tired multiple simultaneous timelines crap so they can revisit the S-Mart ending and the medieval setting again along with it, and all my interest in it vanished into thin air just like that.

Yeah. They're just making shit up every few months in order to continue using the Army of Darkness license.
I had assumed that Dynamite was using one of Sam Raimi's old ideas for Army of Darkness 2 as inspiration. If I recall correctly, Raimi had toyed with the idea of making a sequel that followed both the theatrical ending and the director's cut simultaneously. This comic seems pretty similar to that idea.

I'm intrigued by this notion of a three-way split; two timelines with Ash and judging from this art, Sheila back in 1300? This could be something different from them, if done right.

Issue 2 Solicits:

In this issue: It's Robots vs. Deadites as the legendary Ash Williams takes charge of the future... kind of. Meanwhile, in the present, Bad Ash is being very, very bad. And back in Medieval Times? Well, Evil Ash has gone to pieces... literally!
Picking up immediately after the indelible Director's Cut ending of Army of Darkness, this new series from writer/mastermind TONY FLEECS and artist JUSTIN GREENWOOD features incredible covers from icons of comics horror, including TONY FLEECS himself, East of West artist Nick Dragotta, the zombie king ARTHUR SUYDAM, and master painter FRANCESCO MATTINA

Covers by Francesco Mattina, Arthur Suydam, Tony Fleecs and Nick Dragotta, in that order.

Issue streets November 8.

OK, I cackled at the Ash wedding one: Artists: Francesco Mattina, Arthur Suydam, Tony Fleecs and Nick Dragotta

Blurb: Stuck in the future, a heavily bearded Ash tries to track down pieces of the Necronomicon, while in the past, Sheila faces off against a horde of Deadites at Castle Kandar. And in the present day, Bad Ash is gearing up to start "surfing" the "Internet." Remember AOL? Well, it's about to become AOD!
