Ash vs Evil Dead General Discussion Thread [NO SPOILERS]

You would really have to dig deep to even know this, but an Ash vs Evil Dead officially licensed calendar is coming out. I found out by accident after visiting the comic book shop today to pre-order some Evil Dead comics and it popped up in their pre-orders. It will have the last 4 months of 2016 and all of 2017.

I have always been a fan of calendars especially if they add info on stuff that happens on certain days in the series, or just extra little tid bits of info. Plus add a bunch of pics for each month.

Perfect for April.

Some very interesting and "makes you think how far"news here for the Evil Dead franchise as a whole,  but i wouldn't get too excited as it might not happen but here's the article.

Man if this were to happen and the show got atleast got some of those nominations, oh man would that be quite the feat for this franchise.

Would be nice to see Bruce get a nod for his work, but I think this upcoming season will be the big one for the show... and will garner plenty of attention for the cast and crew.

IMOHO, the show would be a general longshot for everything but the effects, but longer shots have been nominated at the Globes. Good luck to everyone

(and man the franchise really HAS come far).

Ash vs evil dead took home two awards from the chainsaw awards over at fangoria, Best Series and Best Tv Actor

Good on them!

I still would've gone with Ray over Bruce, believe it or not. My bet is that Lucy will be in female lead next year with Dana in supporting with Ray.

This is quite the advert from starz, did bruce get the nomination ?

Those are for the Golden Globes/Emmys - noms won't be announced for awhile, but we'll find out soon enough.

Whelp.  Starz is making the decision to move its original programming premiers to Sunday nights.  The CEO knows this is a "huge risk" but "It's worth it to be a part of the Sunday Night conversation", as if people don't DVR Sunday night shows and/or prioritize what they want to watch.

This is a fairly disastrous idea, as it's going to put AvED in direct competition with The Walking Dead, Sunday Night Football, The Eastern and Western Conference (Baseball) Playoffs, The World Series, Game of Thrones and other big fall shows.  Sunday Night Football especially is going to take a huge bite out of the show because it's not the kind of thing a person DVRs. The show's never increased much RE DVR numbers or VOD anyway (Only gaining a couple hundred k viewers a pop more for a whole WEEK after the show's live air date), so this might indeed be worse than moving it to Fridays to die.

Between this and the quote in my sig I have a huge amount of faith in their CEO.  No.  Really.

Starz has released the campaign videos they sent in attempt at convincing Emmy voters to name Bruce Best actor in a Comedy Series.

According to Variety, Bruce's campaign slogan is “Vote for Bruce Campbell Because I F—ing Said So."

So yeah.  Seconding that cringe.

Bruce has been trending on the social media last couple days.

Assuming most have probably seen this by now?

Thanks for the free publicity, Drumpf!

The whole thing about the Samara Weaving picture from the makeup test was so sad, and I can't believe the person who posted it thought it was a good idea... but people will do anything to support their guy and/or gal. Bruce jumped on it quickly, and I for one will be glad once all this political stuff is over.

I love that it took them two days to delete the Tweet after they got called out by him, too.

Ash Vs Evil Dead has taken home a saturn award for best actor !

According to the Collider article Joe posted to the spoiler board (which I can't cross-post back to this thread because of well, spoilers), Bruce was telling people at the Saturns that the show will return on September 23rd.  Which is a Friday.

Why the show is returning on a Friday when Starz made such a big deal over the fact that they're moving all original programming to a Sunday starting this year, I have no clue.

Maybe there doing that date as special premiere date for the first episode and there moving the rest of the episodes to sunday's afterwards, i guess we'll just have to wait and find out once we actually get a official announcement from starz themselves at comic con this year.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case!   Friday's kind of a worse day to premiere anything versus a Sunday, though.

If that is the actual premiere date and they really do move to a Sunday this year after that date, then the season will wrap on November 20th, which is  on America's Thanksgiving week but not on Thanksgiving week end.   It's a better move than trying to run it through the holiday season and a bit more shrewd to play it through the build up to Halloween (they will miss that date entirely this year, airing the day before this year) but will still put it afoul of Sunday night football, the World Series, etc.

Season debut has been bumped back to October again!

And said above Emmy campaign netted the show a shut-out.

Starz did score some technical awards noms through Black Sails and Outlander.
