Here's a huge article about s2.

Craig sounds a lot more confident about what there trying to accomplish for this season and a big thing is they got a early start on the practical effects this year :) , overall this article has got me even more excited for this season.

Important spoilers gleaned from the article plus thoughts:

* Ash is definitely from Florida now.  "His hometown"  So.  Yep.

* Budgeting extra time in is a smart choice, and he doesn't seem willing to admit it but they obviously needed that bit of time and not to rush.

* [font='Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]That was the 2% character growth that I wanted for him, in the season.  [/font]This continues to annoy me, because Ash already demonstrated that growth multiple times during the show.  If anything, this shrank his character and turned him from the "I want to save everyone" guy in episode 2 to "Fuck everyone but these two kids I like."

* Who was he and what was he really running away from?    He...was a college student.  With a girlfriend.  And a sister.  It's really not complicated.  Are they actually going to say he ran away from his hs girlfriend and whatever happened at home and that's why he went to college in Michigan?

* The Kelly and Pablo stuff sounds completely half-baked and the beginning of his answer seems to show.  Yet more break the woobie stuff for Pablo, yet more of Kelly questioning authority only to end up knuckling under Ash's Promised-ness.  With Amanda dead, she's definitely going to be the season skeptic.

* RE Ruby:  I don’t think it’s a bad thing, but usually you get the bad guy that wants to create hell on earth, especially if it’s a demon.   That. Is literally.  What she said.  When she explained to Ash why  she wanted the book....

*Practical Effects and Organization
I'm very pleased to hear that they aren't being rushed this year for this season, so hopefully this could mean better pacing for the episodes and better effects for this season as well so that's a big plus in my book.

*Kelly and Pablo

I'm going to be sounding like a broken record at this point until i see some footage but, what he said here to me sounds like his trying to not say much about what pablo and kelly are up to this season beyond "His gonna have a rough season ahead of him" and kelly's "what am i doing here with this idiot ?" and half the time he was answering this question he seemed to be going off topic quite a lot and just giving out cliff notes to this question in general.

*Ash
I'm honestly not bothered by the fact that there having ash's hometown be in Florida, i'm quite excited though to see were there gonna go with him for s2 and how there gonna approach his backstory and expand on it, the thing i'm most looking forward to is his relationship with his father, i hope i get the same feeling watching them, like i had with these two.
[img=200x118]http://screencrave.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/10-Indiana-Jones-the-Last-Crusade.jpg[/img]

*Ruby
I think in ruby's case here for s2 were gonna have to wait for footage but from what we've been getting so far in info she's going to be alot more active this time around for S2.

Until we get footage and we actually see the final product, i think anything the actors or what the showrunner says at this point shouldn't be dwelled on too much,  because look at what happen with the recent season of walking dead, they hyped up negan's introduction so bad it wasn't even funny and then they ended  it on a cliffhanger and now there getting A HUUUGE backlash from it. (Sorry for side tracking there)

Anyway's i'm gonna be tongue tied on certain subjects until we see some more info and footage being pumped out, man do these off season's suck big time.
*sigh*

BTW lucy recently did some live facebook chats and she did confirm that the hair she currently has is in fact ruby's hair for this season.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 Pre-Prod Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

While I'm sure the series will start in Florida, (aand possibly a substantial part of it will be set there) I interpreted the hometown stuff to mean that he would leave at some point and go to his home town in Colorado.

They have stated  that
Ash breaks the pact with Lucy's character pretty early on
which I think supports this.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 Pre-Prod Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

That would be funny if they did a Burn Notice crossover.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 Pre-Prod Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Jeffrey Donovan pop up in AvED. I think he was in Fargo too, but don't know if he is still around because I have't watch it much.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 Pre-Prod Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

ETA: Lucy's latest hair choice is pretty interesting - is that puce with dark hair underneath?

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 Pre-Prod Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

here's a look at bruce in costume on the set for s2, plus the deltas are looking extra bloody for this season, i think craig said the delta is going to have be a much bigger character for this season we'll have to see what he means by that when the season airs.

[img=400x274]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cgbm3AdUMAAoNFe.jpg[/img]

For those saying bruce looks a lot more fit this season, i do have to agree with them in that statement , he looks a lot more in shape.

That is such a Bruce outfit he's wearing there.

And I still wish they'd stop comparing themselves to 'bigger' shows.

Same here. I'm not a fan of jokey marketing based on parody. Just gimme a teaser poster that uses imagery from the show and gets me excited for what I'm actually going to watch. Stuff like the constant comparisons to The Walking Dead and now this teaser poster is just lazy, too easy and in my opinion, really lame.

There's just so many reasons why it irks me at this point; the fact that a franchise that has huge cult capital is basically desperately attention begging from fans of younger franchises, the fact that it's the wrong kind of humor (AvED is comedy-horror but it doesn't lean heavily on parody that isn't recontextualized and the gore is more serious than the ads make it out to be), the fact that the advertising isn't clever, etc.

I can see what they're trying to accomplish, but it doesn't work outside of the fandom. It's like when Bruce makes fun of the Walking Dead in a bid for attention - it mills some giggles out of the geek press, gets the fanbase a little excited, then nobody outside of it really cares.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 Pre-Prod Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

I don't actually mind the Game of Thrones poster if it's just a fan art that Bruce embraced on his social profiles. Because Starz didn't actually make this themselves, did they…?

Exactly. Once again, thank you for articulating it a lot better than I could.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 Pre-Prod Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

I think in most cases it is simply fan art, or something someone threw together quickly for shits and giggles. I really don't think they are simply trying glom on to other shows for support and/or to parody, but as a way of saying see we can top all these other shows when it comes to certain things like blood and over the top moments.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 Pre-Prod Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

@Hurley and Nick - It's actually promotional art that either Bruce's social media team or the AvED Tumblr team put together; similar to the Breaking Bad piece he posted back in February and the Walking Dead parody stuff from the winter.  They're also the ones who made that fake endorsement video he Tweeted the other day.

I'd disagree mildly about the glomming on stuff because of Bruce's nonstop Walking Dead related baiting/comparison/joking/what have you; I know why he's doing it (creating brand awareness among younger fans).  It's just a ymmv thing for me for all the reasons i said above.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 Pre-Prod Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

It's worth noting that Bruce is booking stuff for late June, so it looks like they'll wrap either around Memorial Day or in early June.

RE Teasers - I wonder if they'll wait 'Til August and ComicCon to debut anything or just start airing teasers and trailers without fanfare since it's a second-year series?  If they do end up on Fridays we'll see how they adjust everything RE advertising.

Also Bruce officially confirmed on Twitter that they won't be using any Army of Darkness content for the series, because the show is 'far beyond that'.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 Pre-Prod Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

So I think we can all say for certain that Sam Raimi won't be directing any of the new episodes? Because if he would, they would have already announced it, right?

If they can't reference the events in AoD, but have agreed they aren't denying they happened, then why can't they at least reference the end of ED2? Do they somehow not have rights to the events which take place at the end of that movie? Do the rights to "Ash went to the middle ages" somehow exclusively belong to Universal, no matter where they have been depicted? Strange.

If you mention Ash went back in time, it begs for an answer to how he got back... and the 'getting back' part is exclusive to AOD.
