Hmm, looks like it's a lodge versus a cabin this time out.
(Or are they partially deconstructing Brock's house for the finale?)

Let Ash go into space or back to the wild west or to the stone ages or into the French Revolution! ANYTHING. Have him kill Deadites in Hollywood or have him kill them in Mexico or Canada or England. The dearth of imagination here is starting to get super disappointing. "Let's go back to the happy cabin" shouldn't be a drinking game or a repetitive joke.

But when it comes to what's actually being shown in that picture, I think your last guess is probably the correct one... I think it's just a production promo picture and we shouldn't be trying to find clues for specific story details in it.
MaidOfKandar said:Yeah, I wouldn't be shocked if it's just because they're post or between takes. If they're not though, it could be some kind of plot development. We've already seen him with two hands after all!
@Joe - your note made me realize that we really don't even have a plot summary yet and it's almost July. We usually get a first look trailer somewhere around mid/early July but I'm surprised we don't even have a sketch of an outline beyond Bruce saying that it's about why Ash's been selected to battle the Deadites. Then again we haven't had many casting notices - by this time last year we knew about Baal and about the casting of Lacey.

On the right, is that a stunt double or a young Ash stand in?

My question is, why the hell the big pants-wetting panic and pandemonium that resulted in the plot shuffle dance if we're just pulling the trigger on Craig's plot in a different way? I'm glad they're not randomly jamming Kelly into the role instead and ruining two seasons of her development, but the easy "Ash protects his wild yet neophyte teenage daughter while trying to raise her even though oops! He's still a manchild!" plot is not my idea of an upgrade. In fact, it feels like they're doubling down on the sitcom aspect of the show, which is hilarious because apparently Rob hated that?
We already have way too many characters for a half hour sitcom, between Linda, Ruby, Pablo, Kelly and now this teenager and presumably her friends. I'd've much rather more Pablo and Kelly or Ruby development instead of them adding ANOTHER teenager to the cast after the under-developed disaster that was Lacey last season.
Also it looks like Bruce isn't doing the LA Comic Con and is doing NY's instead?

I'm gonna wait and hold my judgement/opinion until i see this character in action and see what the rest of the plot is going to be before i go and start criticizing it cause bruce tends to water things down to its bare bones in these interviews plus he looked pretty bushed and tired. I'm willing to give it a shot and see how it plays out, if it get's too sitcomy i'll probably end up not liking it and the character, we'll see how it pans out i'm just cautiously optimistic about it is all, i'm just relieved to hear that kelly will not be filling that role thank god, i'll take anything else then what craig had mind in general.
As for comic con, i'm going to take a guess and say they are probably skipping san diego this year and are probably just doing NY comic con, we'll see what happens as it should be about time for them to start rolling out info and footage for the show. (I wonder if bruce's book tour didn't play a part in them not being at SD this year or the now cancelled reality show he was planning to film in july/august)
