Why is this Palace original so thin looking in the picture ?.. Why does the white border look so ......... white?

If it's the real deal, it's the best looking one I've seen yet.

Looks like the pictures have been enhanced to make the colours more vibrant.

.. could be, though the spine is in beautifull condition ..

This Beta tape is very cheap so far .. it'd just need the paper sleeve sliding out then a white spirit dipped paper towel to wipe that glue of the front cover:

Another Beta ... this one is considerably more expensive .. red label this time:

I remember those day-glo Fangoria magazine ED2 release T-shirts ... puff print (which were classed as new skool technique 'in the day' but would no doubt fail every enviroment test going now) The grinning skull and Ash banging the grave cross home designs ... I've never seen one on ebay or, come to think of it, the internet at all .. they were very '80's' ...

Hi all, Rob from BookOfTheDead.ws here. Thanks to people for not posting this Ebay item before now; someone was selling a copy of my fanmade Book Of The Dead DVD on Ebay which I really don't need. I'm happy to trade for DVDs with people, but I don't sell them myself, and this sort of thing might come back on me;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Book-Dead-Evil-Dead-2-Disc-Dvd-Set-Rare-Raimi-Video-Nasty-/271221353860?

Openly selling fanmade DVDs is frowned upon in the online community (Ebay specifically prohibits selling bootleg material such as this), but I know who this is and he traded a DVD of his own for it with me fair and square about a year ago, plus that's the original copy so I can't complain too much.

That said, it's not 100% clear from the auction that this is a fanmade bootleg DVD, not some very rare official DVD. It's certainly not worth £46, it's just two printed DVD-R discs in a DVD case with a printed cover. I put in a good few months on that, but £46? Someone's going to be complaining to Ebay when they get it...

God this is terrible.

Not really .... Rob encrypted the discs when he first made them so anyone buying a non original copy might be able to get it to play and might not. Far better to just contact him directly and trade something for one. He won't sell them ... hence his "someones going to be complaining to Ebay when they get it comment"  :cool

Is that serious or a joke because I'm an athiest haha. Just something I let slip in speech.

That beauty is a PolyGram Video/ 4Front video release .. I've got a couple of 'em ..  :bigsmile (smug face emoticon to the left) ..

The companys combined released this particular tape as part of a trilogy VHS cardboard covered box set. Before that, 4Front had a different cover design, before that, the same story with PolyGram ....... and before that .... the titled Palace Horror label re-released 1 & 2. Palace Pictures were responsible for the first UK rental releases of The Evil Dead & Evil Dead II ... due to financial difficultys on Palace's part, Sam, Rob, Bruce & Co chose to go with Guild Home Video for the UK VHS rental release of Army of Darkness ..

That's why I own three VHS players  :wink ... though I rarely if ever watch any Evil Dead tapes on them. I just watch my other tapes if I'm in the mood. My girlfriend also owns a blu ray player, I've got my DVD player so we're pretty much covered  :) ..
