Evil Dead Burn | Official Thread

'Burn' makes me wonder if we have a more directly religious context going on this time (IE: Evil Dead in a monastery or something).

They said they wanted to make a movie that hurts, and diving into religion is a nice way to do that by giving us a more detailed story involving the priests from the record in Evil Dead: Rise and what they were doing.

New Line Cinema President/CCO Richard Brener says more Evil Dead movies (besides the two we know about) are in development:

"We have a lot of great stuff in the works, and we’re also making our second Evil Dead movie with plans for a third as well. But there are also new fresh ones that you haven’t heard of that we believe, in success, we’ll have multiple installments."

I don't think he's talking about other Evil Dead movies there, but new "fresh" films he hopes will be successful and lead to multiple installments.

EDIT: Oh, wait... You mean just that potential third film we didn't know about? Yeah, that's new info. Nevermind.

In context of the interview, I read that as Evil Dead Rise was the first, the second and third being the two they are working on now.

The "fresh ones" I read as referring to other intellectual properties, not Evil Dead. They were talking about the Conjuring franchise and other properties they are going to hopefully expand.

It's just a little baffling re-reading it now. The reporter asked about The Conjuring, and then he started going on about Evil Dead, but then discussed Conjuring in a separate question... so who knows what franchise he's talking about.

First poster?

EVIL DEAD BURN HAS A RELEASE DATE: JULY 24, 2026!
The first cast member has also been announced: Swiss actress Souheila Yacoub!

Variety has a little more info on the casting, and I'm sad they are moving away from April release dates... but depending on the actual date of release they might get multiple San Diego Comic Con appearances in for this year and next.

I'm guessing they're confident enough to try to take a bite of that sweet summer BO

The artist name is down the side of the logo so I'm assuming it's fan made.

The artist's Instagram page says it is concept art and dates back to March, but Rise had a bunch of random artists make posters too... and while the director hasn't shared it a little concept art helps as a place holder until they start working on the movie.

Straight from Sébastien himself. Wish I knew French to decipher those notes...

Pourquoi according to Google means why in French, and the AI Overview says "cote" has multiple meanings depending on context. It can refer to a hill, a coastline, or a rib (as in meat or a rib bone). Additionally, "cote" can be used in the phrase "côte à côte", which means "side by side..." The rest cut off, but the lunch is in the fridge sounds like a good deal.

NEW 'BURN' UPDATE: MORE CAST ANNOUCEMENTS AND PRODUCER/DISTRIBUTOR UPDATE:
>Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, and Tandi Wright are set to star opposite Souheila Yacoub.
>Sony Pictures will co-finance the film alongside New Line Cinema, and will handle the film's international distribution (with Warner/New Line still handling US distribution and StudioCanal still handling UK and France distribution).

Sony getting back in the world of Evil Dead was not on my bingo card...
