Evil Dead Burn | Official Thread

Promotional video by IGN. I've never seen this Alan Knight guy before, but something about him weirds me out.

Since there is no physical Book of The Dead in this film, the role will be filled by a journal containing clippings and research related to the three books gathered by Benjamin Price, an associate of Raymond Knowby.

My thoughts: "Circle of The Wisemen" (or "Wiseman") makes me think of The Wise Man from Army of Darkness.
The significance of the daggers is something I had heard about months ago through a leak, and said leaker said it's not THE Kandarian Dagger, but intentionally supposed to be reminiscent of it.

I like that the Deadites get progressively more gnarly.

I'm very curious to see what the background and backstory stuff ends up being, seeing as how deeply down that road I've gone semi-recently.

Is anyone besides me underwhelmed with the art direction for this movie?
All the footage is so dark it's hard to pick out an art direction at this point. It feels kinda mediocre and uninspired.
The marketing for this movie is really something…

I was just coming here to post this. I can't wait to see the popcorn bucket. On one hand, Sam's come a long, long way. On the other hand - Good Lord.

Also, is that a dog attacking a deadite, or a deadite dog?
There's several hints that the family dog goes Deadite in this one.

Looks like the drawing of the daggers in Burn is referencing Tom Sullivan's Nec artwork in the original, specifically the page with the daggers and hooks.

Just food for thought.

Any Evil Dead popcorn bucket will have a hard time topping the Spider-Man jizz tornado.

NICK YOU OWE ME FOR MAKING ME SEE THIS WITH MY OWN EYES

Ash rolling up in a wheelchair with Mia and Beth, setting up the Evil Dead Avengers.
"We need you for the Necronomicon inititative..."

Having read the AOD comics, I know to stay away from anything hot dog shaped connected to the Evil Dead...
Also... "The Groovy Glizzy" was right there...

Nice catch!

Tickets have been on sale for a full day now and a grand total of one has been sold for my local cinema. I'm curious and worried about how it's going to do now.

There's nothing that's 100% copy-pasted over, but yeah, there's definitly some inspiration there...
