I can confirm the poster isn't legit. the official tumblr for Evil Dead recently told fans if they have any art they wish to submit they can and that poster is one of the most recently released bits of fan art.

Swofty... Nothing will beat our beloved Deadites.net. I was thinking about the fact that I have been posting, but mostly lurking on here for nearly 10 years. Having said that I would think even a low budget marketing department could come up with a better poster. The new pictures are intriguing.

With you 100% on that Nick el Ass. Don't worry, I'm not trying to get people to jump ship  .. I've practically lived here for the last twelve years! .. I'm just suprised Kain hasn't started charging us rent! ... and apologies to all deadites if it's bad form to link to another forum but I'm just all about increasing the knowledge, not decreasing the impact of this site ..

.. and most 12 year olds could come up with a more original/stylish poster than these but, as a terminal optimist, I'm feeling and hoping the reason they're crap is deliberate because in the era the original The Evil Dead was made, most of them were .. and the acting was bad .. and the F/X was cheesy. The marketing for this remake brings to mind to me the posters for the original '78 I Spit On Your Grave:

The make-up F/X has been compared to Linda Blair's in The Exorcist ... again a throwback that I'm, again, hoping is a choice made by the director and our OG production crew trying to get the feel right for this remake.

I've just finished listening to a Fangoria interview with Fede Alvarez where he says he drove his prop guy crazy by insisting that the playing cards on the table in his remake had to be laid out in exactly in the same order for every shot as they were originaly read out by Cheryl in the original The Evil Dead ... for no other reason that diehard Evil Dead fans might spot it  8) .. god bless him ..
