Interesting they didn't bring DiGregorio to this one.

oh god i'm Loving this panel so far the chemistry between everyone is just great, it was worth the wait. ted's lee major's impression is just spot on  :P and bruce is just full of piss and vinegar this year. oh god, bruce's smartassness has rubbed off on dana and ray haha.

@Hurley

With all who was on this panel, it was pretty stacked so it dosen't surprise that craig or hurd didn't make a appearance.

No problemo. I just happened to check out Starz Youtube page for the millionth time, and they had just posted it... and I didn't even really watch a lot before coming here as always.

If a guy like Rob Tapert had all of one line through the whole thing Craig DiGregorio would have been in trouble, haha. None the less, the one big thing that I take away from this panel... and others is that this cast has the most chemistry of any cast I have seen (dare I say) since Xena. Part of that is that the gang have all known each other since they were young, but Ray and Dana are fitting in perfectly as well as Lee Majors which is what I was most worried about. It will be interesting from here on out how the rest of the newcomers do, and who will make surprise appearances in season 2. I'm excited as hell.

/Add in season 3/4 if you subscribe to Starz.

UHHH GUYS GOOD NEWS ?

Sunday is proving to be a very good day for Starz. Last night’s Season 3 Survivor’s Remorse premiere drew 883,000 viewers in Live+SD, up 164% from its second-season debut and 335% from its series premiere debut telecast in 2014. The series’ premiere night airings (three telecasts) July 24 totaled 1.25 million in Live+SD, the most ever for a Starz original comedy series. Ash vs. Evil Dead is the next-highest with 1.19 million.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 General Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

More from Den of Geek:

Apparently they have a plan that starts from the finale and worked forwards.

Expect Ash's dad to be a Deadite a couple of times.  They mention that Ted will be in it too but I think all the set reports from earlier already telegraphed that.

Ruby's past will somehow link into AOD. Possibly.

Why they're begging Starz for more seasons (The article mentions the show's 'immense cult appeal' as a factor for Starz re-upping, though nothing seems certain.)

“We want seasons 3 and 4 from Starz. I think they’re starting to see that it’s catching on. And everyone needs programming, and I think it would be a great nod to the fans. Because what happens is if they say, ‘We’re going to [greenlight] two more seasons, 3 and 4, the fans will go ‘then we’re good.’ I mean, they will. And now they’ll go, ‘I’ll get to it,’ because now there’s enough content, and it will be real to them—it’s weird how those things sometimes work. If they squeeze out the seasons, fans go, ‘oh, c’mon!’ But if you get two? They’re like, ‘DAMN! This is good!’ Your binge factor now, it goes up. Instead of 10 episodes, you’ve got 20. So, we’ll see what we can do. We’re continuing to torment Starz.”

Also the best part was Bruce just giving in and embracing Ash:

"I’m happy to take Ash to the end now. I’ll do it,” Campbell said with a small laugh. “You know, every actor goes through the denial phase of ‘look, I’ve done a lot of other projects and blah blah blah blah blah.’ Look, if they want Ash? I’m going to choke you on him. You’ll have more Ash than you ever wanted in your whole life.”

Anyone who's either seen him at a convention pre-10s or remembers what he was like back then is likely laughing their butts off right now.

Oh god the chemistry is immense between these two....

UPDATE
Interview with Ray, Dana and Ted (MAJOR SPOILERS IN THIS INTERVIEW BE WARNED)

https://www.facebook.com/colliderdotcom/videos/10153854694484366/

So pablo is mentally tied with the book and is trying to figure out how to cope with it and apparently is going to be in heavy prosthetics for some episodes , kelly is going to be forming a alliance with ruby which i had a feeling was going to be happening given her goal as ruby is a dark one and she can get get her straight to the source of the problem, a lot of  very interesting stuff said here in this interview, and chet's character oh dear lord just keep him away from ash haha.

======================================================================================

Here's ANOTHER interview but with Rob,Lucy and Bruce  (One part of this interview confirms my suspicions that season 1 was rushed production wise and were getting Season 2 in early october ! thank god *phew*)

http://www.ign.com/videos/2016/07/22/ash-vs-evil-dead-bruce-campbell-teases-new-villains-comic-con-2016

================================================================================================================

Here's a interview with all the cast member's  and it provides some light on what ash's father has been going through since his been gone down below is brief character description of brocks character. (I personally cannot wait to see how brock interact's with everyone especially with ruby, i have a feeling those scenes are gonna be great)

Source : http://www.ew.com/article/2016/07/22/ash-vs-evil-dead-bloodiest-show?xid=entertainment-weekly_socialflow_twitter

Lee Majors, like you’ve never seen him
The Six Million Dollar Man is crashing into Jacksonville, Florida to appear as Ash’s (Campbell) dad, Brock. He makes the cavalier and brash Ash look like an upstanding gentleman in comparison.
“When you get to know Brock, he is such a bigot, such a pig, he’s everything awful. You come to think that Ash Williams is this triumph of nature over nurture.” she said.
Brock becomes enamored with Ruby and insistently hits on her — “and she doesn’t like it,” Lawless added. Brock also has a special name for Ruby, which Majors keeps calling Lawless in real life.

Why is it i wanna see fanart of ruby walking angrily with brock holding onto ruby's leg with lovey eye's while ash facepalms  in the background.

Ugh, so all of the race-related material that never found a home in Ash's dialogue has migrated to his father's.  Joy :p

Pablo being mentally tied to the book feels...IDK, a bit comic book-esque?  Reminds me of Ash's blood literally being used to rewrite history in the comic book line.

Looking forward to watching Ruby and Kelly ally to kill stuff tho.

Good news for Army Of Darkness fans here .

"We actually can reference [Army of Darkness], and we reference it in this coming season," Tapert said during IGN's livestream.
"We just don't pull upon that universe, but this coming season Ash is able to talk about events that happened in Army of Darkness, although people are not likely to believe him, of course," he continued."

http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/07/22/comic-con-2016-ash-vs-evil-dead-will-reference-army-of-darkness-in-season-2

Guess they finally managed to talk universal into letting them reference it, now we have a concrete timeline and continuity now for this show which is quite simply amazing to say the least, now we don't have to pull our hair out anymore trying to figure were this show fits in the timeline anymore ! HOORRRAYY  :D

Den of Geek says it will be "Frequently" referenced in the second season and may tie into Ruby's origin story but Tapert told other outlets that it will be sparringly.  See my Ruby spoiler below.  Since the lover that Ruby had is 'big and bad' I presume that she teamed up with Bad Ash (the AOD recipe) at some point.

Joem1k said:
Executive producer Rob Tapert and Ash Williams himself, Bruce Campbell, confirmed to IGN that Cheryl Williams, Ash's sister from the original The Evil Dead, will appear in the upcoming season. "Ash's sister makes a tiny little guest appearance, causes a little commotion," Tapert said to IGN.

MAJOR SPOILERS IN THE SOURCE

There is just too much to take in from this comic con !!!

I really, really want to hope they'll do the Cheryl revelation right.  But I have my concerns.  And I wonder if it might end up too jokey for fans of the first movie.

Joem1k said:
Another majorly spoilery article so here's a quote from the best part which has now sold me on this season entirely

Meanwhile, those events from the first film will play a role in Ash vs Evil Dead since Ash’s hometown holds him responsible for all those folks who disappeared in a Cabin in the Woods.

“He holds the death of his daughter against him,” Majors, who plays Campbell’s father, says of the characters’ estrangement. “He thinks he was a little bit responsible for it. He thinks he’s a little bit of a nutcase, really. And so, he’s just, ‘You’re here, do what you’re going to do, and get the heck out.’”

Campbell even suggests that Ash Williams has become the antithesis of a local hero. Instead, he is an urban legend, a boogeyman to tell children not to grow up like this primitive screwhead.

“In the town, I’m known as Ashy-Slashy,” hints Campbell. “It’s a bad nickname. They’ve made up an urban song that kids sing. Oh, it’s bad!”

I'm still on the fence about the whole Ashy-Slashy thing.  Especially now that AOD is canon.

Joem1k said:

io9 liked it too.

Dread Central, however, did not.

More details from i09 :

On Ash and his dad's relationship:

“[Ash’s father] doesn’t like his son,” Majors said. “[Ash] goes back to his home town, where he created the mess to begin with, and left me there trying to clean up his mess. The town kind of went against me, also, because they didn’t want to be associated with the father of ‘Ashy Slashy’.”

Since AOD is officially canon now, how the hell do people not believe that Ash telling the truth, A, and B, how the hell did Ash manage to unlearn his lesson THAT quickly?

More on Chet:

“Chet is a very questionable character on his own ... he makes drinks laced with ketamine. So that’s not a healthy situation,”

Ohhhkay.  What is it with this show and hallucinogens?  Stop winking at the audience!

SFX battle:

“There’s a fight with a colon. An extended fight with a colon.”

On the big bad:

Season two will also feature a yet-to-be-known character who will play a very important role. “There’s also a new main, main baddie, who is a nasty fucker. But we’re gonna take him down. If we can,” Campbell said.

“It’s somebody who was intimately connected to [Lucy Lawless’ character] Ruby,” Rob Tapert—who produced the original Evil Dead movies, includingArmy of Darkness, which will get shout-outs this season—explained. “[This character] now knows that Ash is the chosen one, and he must be stopped at all costs.”

So Ruby's ex-lover?

Sam Raimi's level of participation:

While Sam Raimi is still involved in Ash vs Evil Dead, his role in season two is somewhat reduced, according to Tapert. “Sam had a huge footprint in the first season. [The season two plot of] going back home, some of the casting decisions, including Lee, and some things we played around with involving his beloved Delta [car]—[those are things] that he had to sign off on, and he was very much ultimately behind those things. He was very involved in the first part of the second season, getting that all set up. But he’s been involved in some other big movie projects that sort of sucked him away for the later half of the season.”

Just admit he rubber stamped it, guys

A lot can happen in 30 year's being alone in a rv camper just drinking and running from place to place being alone all the time looking after a book that's caused severe trauma both mentally and physically, so it doesn't surprise me none he slowly unlearned his lesson from AOD and went back to his old ways during that long stretch of time, that's just the way i see it.

As for the town folk not believing him, i have a feeling ash just didn't come back to his home town and the town eventually started the rumors ,name  and song for him during that time, then they ran his father out of town because of the whole deal which is quite honestly sad. So them not believing a word ash says makes sense as he hasn't been seen or heard from when he first went out to that cabin.

I'm quite interested in seeing who this main antagonist will be but as for right now, it's a wait and see game for me :/

I'm wondering how come chet does that  and i wonder if that won't play a role in a future episode.

I honestly cannot wait to see that colon fight, it just screams Evil Dead with a hint of re-animator to it.

The other thing i can't wait to see is the relationship between ash and his father and how they will reconnect over the course of this season.

Yeah, but it seems like he unlearned it almost immediately judging from the way Lee talks about how it went down.  I'm curious to see how they play it out.

They dropped some more hints in the last IGN interview: "Big Bad Boyfriend" was used.

You know Ash is going to take multiple trips this season; snorting angel dust is on the menu on top of the likely ketamine trip.

DocLathropBrown said:
Betcha that "big bad" will be the asylum psychiatrist from the trailer.

Interesting they didn't bring DiGregorio to this one.

IMO, DiGregorio's kind of the show's superfluous third nipple.  He has no insight in the making-of segments and he was a third wheel at the panels.  I'd much rather have more Dana and Ted than him.

(Also I think It was Nick who said Dana's been doing well at panels; I definitely noticed that at the ComicCon one!)

Nooot particularly?  The debut cumes have been known for a little while now.  The problem is that they've been steadily dropping off week to week.  I think by the middle of the run they were at something like 300k?

Y'know, one of the most interesting things I noticed watching through all of the panels earlier; they will not let Bruce or anyone say the debut date for some reason.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 General Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

@Maid

I think pablo being tied to the necronomicon makes perfect sense continuity wise given what happen to him at the end season 1 i mean birthing demons and being possessed by the actually book itself would probably leave some very big scar's on his mental state (kinda like how ash had a his own mental breakdown/struggle in the cabin in ed2). Personally i have a good feeling pablo will be having his own hero's journey this year. it's gonna be quite interesting to see how his character is gonna be toward's the end of this season in general and bruce seems to really be hyping it so they must have something very cool in store for pablo.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this or not but at the near end of the blastr interview dana accidentally let's it slip that kelly will be battling with herself sometime during this season, my guess is near the end of it. So were going to be seeing a evil version kelly (NOTE it will probably be very different to her eligos form) how interesting is this season shaping up to be :)

Bruce mentioned the premiere date was  going to be in early october but that was as far as he was allowed to say.

I think his hometown and the people there don't know about the events of AoD or ED2 and only know that he took cheryl and his friends to the cabin, so timeline wise this town is kinda stuck in ED1 canon of this story line, so the ashy slashy stuff makes sense in my eyes.

I don't know, i'm going to be going into this season with a different mindset with how they approach things this season compared to how they did last season(Script,Effects and how its shot ETC, and from what it sounds from the interviews when they asked about season 1 from what it sounds like to me, they were having a very difficult time with all of that with season 1) the way they were playing up ash going towards cheryl's room looks like it's gonna be a pretty big deal and not played up for jokes and pablo's "whatever happen in this town, really seems to haunt him" line, i get the feeling where going to be seeing ash's more personal side come out this season.

Hearing ash vs evil dead finally broke a million in viewership is very good news in my eye's, hopefully we'll see a boost in viewership with this move to sunday's come october.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 General Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

Well, who's to say that the deadite that attacked the S-Mart at the end of AoD wasn't just a one-off? If Ash had kept fighting those things for all that time, he wouldn't have become as pathetic as he was when the show started. And that may not have happened in Elk Grove. For all we know, that ending takes places months or maybe even a year after he got back from 1300. He could have already hit the road by that time.

If it was an isolated incident, then I could see it being written off as bull when anyone tried to talk about it. Or, as I said earlier, it didn't happen and that's just how Ash wants to view his life.

Oh, I think it makes narrative sense.  IDK, it just doesn't sit perfectly well with me though.

And I think it's reasonable to believe that if they know about Cheryl they'd know from the paper/television media that something happened - and Annie's death would have had to have made the papers and whatever happened at the S-Mart would've, too.  There are way too many dead bodies and, in the S-Mart case, living witnesses to make the whole thing believable.

I know they kept saying early October; that could be the 2nd or the 9th - the difference between ending on the 11th or the 18th of December, which means finishing on Christmas week or the week before.

I wish I could give 'em the benefit of the doubt, but I can't resist wondering how they'll make it work.  Here's to hoping!

Ahh, but to me it's less that it'd've been a one-off incident than the fact that Ash has at least twenty witnesses who are likely still living and who know that Deadites are real and can possess innocent people.   One person lying is easy to dismiss.  at least thirty, tho?

I'll need to look at the 'Here I Go Again' montage to see where Ash starts out on his journey.  I'm pretty sure it's not Elk Grove but that he does end up going there at some point.   Either way, they'll have to explain away the fact that

So, were getting evil ash and evil kelly this season, boy i wonder how the finale is going to play out ?

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 General Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

About the ending to AoD, here's my take on it (I think I shared it before in some other thread): Remember how the ending to ED2 was completely redone and expanded upon for AoD? In a way, the entirety of AoD is the final scene of ED2 stretched to feature length. The way I see it, AvED is the ending to AoD completely redone and expanded upon. Ash works in a convenience store, he tells his story to a co-worker, the deadites return and he has to become a hero once again. AvED is not supposed to be a continuation of AoD's last scene, but a replacement to it, the same way that AoD is supposed to be a replacement to the last scene of ED2.

About the possessed classic... Now that's a really silly idea that actually has the potential to be very fun and seems very "Evil Dead" in style to me. Color me curious to see how they handle it.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 General Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

This season just seems to get better and better. I think that a possessed Classic is a GREAT idea and the car looks fantastic. Just getting more and more excited for season 2 at this rate.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 General Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

I feel bad for any cast member(s) who have to deal with a possessed classic if that is indeed the case because in the first trailer it had flames shooting out of the back, and now we get this shot which looks really cool. I'm also curious to know if they changed the headlight covers, or the angle of the lights to make it look angrier... or if it is just me.

RE: Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 General Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

Alright i got some IMDB info here for you guys (Take it with a grain of salt though) let's start it off with whose directing episode 9 and 10

*Insert Drumroll here*

Rick jacobson will be directing the final two episodes for this season, another thing to take note is that sara west's character named tanya will be appearing in these final two episodes, but like i said above take this info with a huge grain of salt because last season they listed  mimi rodgers to be in the finale and that ended up being false information.

I could actually see that!

I'm looking forward to seeing the possesed Classic/Christine tribute episode!

About the ending to AoD, here's my take on it (I think I shared it before in some other thread): Remember how the ending to ED2 was completely redone and expanded upon for AoD? Judging from interviews on CinemaBlend https://www.cinemablend.com/television/1540130/ash-vs-evil-dead-season-2-has-one-of-the-most-outrageous-tv-deaths-of-all-time  and EW http://www.ew.com/article/2016/07/29/ash-vs-evil-dead-season-2-death The Classic will have an entire episode devoted to it early on in season 2, and it will be epic in more ways than one.

I also caught this interview recently that gives a little more info on what the Ghostbeaters have been up to since traveling to Jacksonville, and some of what we can look forward to as well. Color me excited even though I'm not sure what color that would be exactly.
