What an unoriginal tagline.

The film's title placed firmly between her legs isn't exactly subtle either. Maybe that's the point?. The original never set out to make any friends either. That's why it was a cult classic. The tagline is pretty generic. Probably deliberately so .. I think this new version of The Evil Dead is again setting out to just freak people out ..

Re: [Official Thread] The Evil Dead Remake

I like taglines that describe the film more rather than just try to say "MOST SCARY MOVIE!" Like the famous ones from Jaws and Alien that in turn got re-used several times with just a few different words in so many other movies after it. Even the original's "The Ultimate Experience in Grueling Terror" is much like this one. I much prefer the other one! "Can they be stopped?"

A pretty rad fan poster:

Do not like this poster............ unoriginal.........  :-[

Re: [Official Thread] The Evil Dead Remake

Dear Fede Alvarez, Sam and Bruce,

We realise you want this film to stand on its own legs but how about giving the O.G., Mr. Graham Humphreys a shot at at least one of your posters ..... please? .... after all, you've put the Delta 88 in this movie !.. :

Dear Graham Humphreys,

If you do THE (or at least A) poster for this remake, I will bury the hatchet forever over your god awfull Evil Dead re-release artwork where you re-painted possesed Cheyrl with fucking jowels and some kind of stupid Elvis sneer .. thank you.
and forgive you for that

Re: [Official Thread] The Evil Dead Remake

Well, the majority of film posters these days are un-original like that teaser poster, so miss the days of Drew Struzan!

Hope you get a response Swoft haha  ;D

Seems like they're going for an old school I Spit On Your Grave  era vibe with this poster ...

When I first saw it pop up I was all giddy then that same realization set in... I'm sure we will get a few more before the movie comes out. The Hobbit has one for each character and then some.

I'm seriously hoping each poster will be in a completely different style Nick el Ass .. and when it comes to bold claims in film marketing, I think the winner has to be 1971's title, The Night that God Screamed .. although imdb admirably has it listed, I don't want to ruin the suprise for you to find out what happens when you type the title into Youtube's search engine ..

.. on a side note, I was wondering when the first remake stuff would enter the collectables market, and here we go. Surely this seller is playing with fire bootlegging this so soon unless they've secured the license? :

.. more from this seller:

and .. :

... unrelated to this thread so just for fun .. they bring you the future of cellar doors .. struggling with possesed relatives and want to contain them with style? . the yuppie solution!  :P :

Re: [Official Thread] The Evil Dead Remake

I did some work with the trailer to make it more classy lol. I know it's kinda jumpy at parts, a lot of the clips in the trailer were very short. I'm planning on making something a little better once the next trailer comes out with more footage, but u all get the idea lol.

I'm hoping that this is tapping into the stark un-hollywood spirit of the original .. Ash was never a hero .. things continued to get worse ..and then even Ash died .. I hope this remake remains faithfull to Sam Raimi's cruel first vision ..

Re: [Official Thread] The Evil Dead Remake

I wasn't sure if this belonged in the e-bay thread or this one but, either way, this is nice. I want it:

Re: [Official Thread] The Evil Dead Remake

I was just re-looking at the release dates for this and was suprised to see the country that gets first dibs on viewing this is suprisingly Jamaica, on the 10th of April, then Slovenia on the 11th then the U.S.A. on the 12th folowed by the U.K and others on the 19th .. not exactly the traditional order anyone would have predicted :-\ ..

http://www.evildead-movie.com/releasedates/

I wonder if there's some sort of market research reasons for the first two countrys? .. I know it sounds sort of snobby but then how many Evil Dead fans and how much merchandise have you ever seen from Jamaica or Slovenia? ... perhaps New Zealand is starting to become too expensive for future productions for New Pacific Rennaisance/Ghost House Pictures ventures? ..

Jamaica's Jampro's benefits:

http://www.jamaicatradeandinvest.org/index.php?action=investment&id=4&oppage=4&optyp=mm

Slovenia's tax credits and tax shelters:

http://www.fsf.si/images/tinymce/datoteke/Dokumenti_15_FSF/Accompanying%20programme%20-%20details%20-%20final.

Will these be the shooting locations of Raimi & Co.'s next movies?
I think this has Rob Tapert's sticky little buisnesman's fingers all over it ...

Re: [Official Thread] The Evil Dead Remake
