[Official Thread] Evil Dead Rise

I do wanna point out that Bruce let it slip months ago of what he will be doing in the film, Lee's late on the gun with this tease!

Now see, he followed that up by insisting he wouldn't be going so, as always, it's Bruce misdirection leaning toward surprising the audience. Didn't come off this time.

At least Bruce will be "appearing" in audio form instead of being shown during the credits. I remember sitting in the theater after the second screening of Evil Dead 2013 when a guy stood up and very loudly told everyone to stay until the very end which kind of ruined it for those watching for the first time.

Premiere is happening soon, curious to see how this new entry will do! Hoping for the best for the cast and crew working on this one and they deliver a solid entry to the franchise!

Downright excited to see people in line holding tickets to another Evil Dead movie even if the rest of us have to wait 36 more days to see it in our local theaters.

And here is Bruce...

Your director Lee Cronin, Alyssa Sutherland, and Lily Sullivan.

Can confirm people are sharing their thoughts, and early reviews are trickling in on IMDB (for what it is worth) putting it at 8.8 with 13 reviews... but if you don't want to be spoiled I would avoid the Evil Dead Rise hashtag on all forms of social media even if it does have a cool cheese grater emoji.

I'm seeing mostly positive to some being mixed reviews on social's and some spoiler reactions. Be careful on socials!

That being said, seems like we might have another solid entry for this franchise!

From what i'm hearing from some of the reactions, it's a mix of 2013 tone with the dark comedic tone of the raimi trilogy specifically evil dead 2 and blends together into a great mix.

Sounds like a best of both worlds situation to me! Can't wait! :D

Looks like a heckler incident happened at the screening.

Woah. First time I've seen that happen at a premiere for the franchise.

I'm seeing a lot of mixed to positive too, some interesting stray comments that have me intrigued

Several people saying they cried during the film, but not from the brutality - they were emotionally moved. I can't parse whether the humor is intentional because I keep reading that it's either filled with sly witty subtle humor or that it's the most serious entry in the franchise ever, people are saying completely disparate things about it.
