Three bits of EVIL DEAD 2 stuff are up on Prop Store
1) The screen-used stunt Necronomicon Ex-Mortis (from the "blood sea" into animation and the opening castle scene). This is also the same prop used in Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday and Pumpkinhead 2: Bloodwings.

2) Tree matte painting by Bob Kayganich from the scene where Deadite Ash is "purified" by the sun.

3) Kandarian Demon concept art by special effects artist Doug Beswick.

Video from Prop Store going into a bit more detail about the creation of the ED2 "stunt" Necronomicon.

I've owned the Army Of Darkness game since around the time it was released and I recently realised I've never actually played it. All that will change on the 14th of this month when I go around a friend's house with another friend to have a crack at it.

Our own @MaidOfKanda has told me it's good fun so I'm looking forward to this. This video reviewer complains that the rules pamphlet isn't very good so I've been studying this video. I've also got the soundtrack on CD so I'll see if the others are into playing that while we go into battle.

Necrononomicon stunt prop from Evil Dead II going up August 15th:

This book is now so fragile that it can't even be opened all the way. Guess that explains why the photos of the pages on the site were so awkward. Hopefully the main "hero" version (which they say in this video is allegedly in Sam Raimi's possession) was built to last a bit longer...

Yep, the only thing that sold was an AOD costume and a Matte painting; I was surprised the poster art didn't go. I wonder if the last bid was too late because they were having trouble the whole auction with last-minute bids. /was lurking there today.

And once again, as much as I like Propstore, they have a tendency to wayyy overvaluate some items and if you live in the States the shipping and import fees are a pain in the butt (let alone convincing your bank that this British auction company is legit) They have an LA arm, I don't know why they don't ship FROM there, but yes.

The company was founded in England yep and I first heard about it online as The Propstore of London before it changed to just Propstore (Sean Clark has made some very anti videos on youtube about them because he couldn't get proof certificates for The Lost Boys jackets he's bought from Propstore for some reason). I'd assumed Adam Savage would have made his video review of the stunt BOTD prop at the LA arm otherwise he'd have presumably had to travel to England specially to film the prop there which I can't see him doing unless he was filming more of their collection at the same time so my best guess is the book was in LA at the time of Adam's video and then the auction.

I agree with you that propstore over price things. I would have expected the stunt BOTD prop, as beautiful as it is, to have peaked at about $30,000 tops but obviously I was wrong and someone was willing to pay 80 for it.

Yep, I became aware of them after Mythbusters teamed up with them. This made me look up Sean Clark's YouTube and it's kind of amazing they pulled that stuff on him.

I bought a Bruce Campbell face cast online about ten years ago. I think I'm attempting a first by compiling images and info on face and head casts of Bruce while boasting I own one at the same time?.

I've just found pictures of two more different ones, the expressions on all three are different, mainly around the mouth. I Google searched both 'Bruce Campbell face cast' and 'Bruce Campell head cast and the internet only has these three images with no description and doesn't have anything on my third cast or anyone currently selling them. These things seem pretty rare now.

I'll post the two I've just found first then edit this post when I can with a picture of mine. I don't own either of these, buying the 'other one' is enough because I want to attempt to sculpt an ED2 evil Ash make up on it one day.

I don't know anything more about these two but they look like hardened plaster. Mine's a hardened resin pull and also highly detailed so these might be resin as well.. I've still got the paperwork in a cupboard somewhere for it that shows it was a small company with access to a number of famous actor's face casts. Every time a cast is made from a cast then made from a cast of that it loses a little detail. I'll post a pic of the invoice for mine in case any other collectors here want to look for one of these to buy.

edit: Mine. Does anyone here know if there are any more than these three please?

I'm in the Propstore auction and interestingly enough, the Ash costume from AOD they had sold for 5k, but the AvED costumes and props did not sell. For anyone who wants props from the series, these should be able to do post-auction buys on these tonight:

They've got a matte painting by Bob Kayganich from a deleted scene from Evil Dead II. Anybody want to take any guesses as to where this could have been used? I'm thinking maybe between the opening scene of the Oldsmobile leaving the tunnel and crossing the bridge...

Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) was flung through the forest canopy while possessed by demons, only for them to be pushed out of his body by the daylight.

Looks like from the description these are a perfect fit for the two shots of the countryside after Ash hits the tree and lifts his head out of the puddle and screams before putting his hand up to block the sun, but also as fog starts rolling back.

I thought that too at first... but it can't be at that point since it's still "late mid-day" when he arrives at the bridge a minute later.

My guess was that or it's a vista from a 1300s scene that got chopped.

It went for 800 pounds and Ash's wooden hand from a couple of episodes of aved went for 5,000. The pages of the Nec they had did not, and are up for last chance buys.
